Yes just like Jo21 and DaveD said go for the new ones. It's more reliable. You don't know the history of the used ones and you might spending a lot more.

DarkRulez: Here are the options I'd consider if i were you.

1) Buy a used unit off craigslist. Cheaper, but no warranty. Search around, compare prices, and make sure to test it before you buy it. Haggle and get it even cheaper. A used unit is not worth the risk for only $30 of savings!

2) Buy a new unit for $99. Probably your best course of action.

Well the reason i dont want to spend 100 bucks plus tax,Im also buying the star ocean last hope for the 360 for 60  and i already spend 20 dollars on persona  3 FES today so that's and planning to buy persona 4 if i buy a PS2 new ill be spending over 200 bucks..I just dont have that money right now.Trust me if i had enough money i would get a new ps2

Well, if that's a risk you are willing to take, I say go for it.

I've gone though literally 4 ps2's, because they usually stop reading dual layer, stop reading ps2 blue discs, or just outright quit working all together.

Still, not as bad as Ps1, which I had 7 of. :P
