Great, so the only thing Wii needs is more quality games?

On the bright side I can get plenty of those on HD consoles.

Thats true but there are great games on the Wii also just not as many as the HD twins together.

They will come though we will see the next year or so as it took time for developers to shift focus especially when they have been so reluctant.

Edit: I also enjoy the games on the HD consoles.

If anything I think developers are more reluctant than ever to release Wii games. So far 2009 is looking like a great year for PS3 and 360 only. At best Wii owners can look forward to more Nintendo games.

you are right there is still big reluctance but some has turned and when the succeed ( assuming they actualy put some effort in their work) the rest will follow as the cashcow is bigger then the elefant in the room no one is talking about.

Your last comment: That´s the best thing about Nintendo their first party is so powerful so thats enough reason to buy their consoles which cannnot be said about the others YET. Sony is making big headway in that depatment and I think this gen has taught them a big lesson about how important it is to have a powerfull first party, thats how Nintendo survived and made more profit then Sony in Sony´s golden era.

Microsoft on the other hand still has this lesson to learn but on the other hand they have Halo ro rely on for now.

Without Nintendo products, the industry would be down 14 percent for the year, according to the NPD Group.

Says it all right there.

Know what really says it all? Without the wii, sales would still be up.

for the xbox yeah sure but for the ps3? Not to mention that 3rd party devs wouldn't be recieving a lot of money that they're getting from the Wii. When you talk about the industry thinking that it consists of only Sony MS and Nintendo then it's no wonder that you write stuff like you did.

If i lose access to this profile as well....I'm done with this site.....You've been warned!!.....whoever you are...

Happy Wii60 user. Me and my family are a perfect example of where hardcore meets casual and together mutate into something awesome.

You may have 58.4% for last month, but until you get a steady stream of games like RE5, SFIV, GTAIV, Burnout, etc.....I don't really care

Bla bla bla...

NES, SNES, PS1, and PS2... all of those consoles were truly the best of their generation and best selling.

But the Wii just does not make any sense to me.

I'm sure a lot of xbox fans didn't get that the PS2 was the best of it's generation either.

Fan or fanboy? I had an original Xbox and Gamecube, both were great. But the PS2 had an huge library of great games and tons of variety.

Just fans.  Plenty of people could of liked the Xbox but disliked the PS2 for some reason or nother.

The bolded could also be said about the Wii... to people who enjoy the Wii.

I'm saying people who actually prefered the Xbox over the PS2 were MS fanboys. The PS2 pretty much won hands down in every genre. The best reasons to own the Xbox was FPS and couple of adventure/RPG games.

The Wii may have variety but that's not worth much when the games are weak.

Looking at Metacritic, here are the amount of games with scores 75 and up.

Wii - 76

PS3 - 144

Xbox 360 - 233

you do realise that ALOT of reviewers COMPARE Wii games against PS3/360. Not to mention the reviewers are pure gfx whores so to them Wii games are automatically inferior.

I bet if you got normal people to rate the Wii games, ie Wii owners that aren't hardcore gfx whores just people who go to a shop and don't even read reviews. They would rate some of those 5-7games a 7-10.

And Metacritic is a valuable source.... why?

It's not like videogame critics are like movie critics.  Videogame critics don't rate games based on how good they are.  They base games on how much they like them.

And they are a very narrow demographic.

Isn´t it amazing that the anti Wii people rather see the industry decline then acknowledge the Wii and waht it has doen so far for us gamers and the industry and that is not included the direction the future will bring thanks to Nintendo.

Motion controlls are here to stay and it´s all thanks to Nintendo and all the anti Wii people will show how big hipocrites they are when they buy their console of choice next gen with motion controlls and praise their console for it.
