I know you are debating the control but for Nintendo it was a gamble even if they belived i it and u seem to be under the impression that it was easy to develop wich it wasn´t since it took them 10+ years to get to where we are today and if it was so easy and riskfree then the others would have done it.

The libraby is weak for you but for the rest of wii owners it isn´t its the most divesified of them all. Granted they miss some genres but thats all a few genres missing while they have loads of all other gneres.

The genres you are missing will be coming and are in the pipeline allready so they will get here.

I'm saying people who actually prefered the Xbox over the PS2 were MS fanboys. The PS2 pretty much won hands down in every genre. The best reasons to own the Xbox was FPS and couple of adventure/RPG games.

The Wii may have variety but that's not worth much when the games are weak.

 

Looking at Metacritic, here are the amount of games with scores 75 and up.

Wii - 76

PS3 - 144

Xbox 360 - 233

 

Obviously a score of 75 shouldn't be considered high, how about scores of 80, 85, or 90 + because there is no way you could say that Wii has 76 games that are really all that great.

I completely agree with you about the Wii Library though, The problem here is that there are a thing I like to call elite games that define the console / generation. Examples of games like these would be like Vice City / San Andreas for the PS2 or Gran Turismo or FInal Fantasy VII for the PS1. The Wii doesn't really have this yet.  There are about 5-10 great games for the Wii (not quite elite games) and unfortunately after those 10 or so the quality of titles even for the average gamer falls fast.

I've played plenty of great games that's only got about a 75. I completed Gun last week and I had a blast. It got a score of 75.

When it comes to scores of 85 and up:
Wii - 18
PS3 - 45
360 - 60

Also bear in mind Wii expectations are much lower in graphics and gameplay. If a lot of those games were released on HD consoles they would get lower scores.

you know that is bulshit Wii games get compared to the HD twins all the time and not on their own merit.

Yes gun is a hell of a fun game that goes to show that metacritic scores are bullshit to go after.

Look, most people don't buy that much games like you guys do because they actually spend it on better things. I don't know a lot of people who buy more then 2 games or even 1 game a month, but on this forum it's actually normal. Just saying, ur one of the few, ur not a majority...

Well its hard not to compare Wii games to HD games considering they're both current gen consoles and cost the same amount of money. I want more advanced games both visually and technically. The Wii it feels like I'm getting a last gen console packaged with a new accessory (i.e. Wiimote).

Well thats your opinion but it´s hard for it to be last gen when it´s the third most powerful console ever and was released this gen.

New gen is not about graphics, it´s part of it and the Wii improved on that over last gen and they went one step further and brought us to the path of more interactivity through gaming ala wiimote

Well what were you expecting them to do? Make it less powerful than the Gamecube or go a step up? Either way its not a huge step up and most of the games are barely at par with popular Xbox titles visually.

The specs of the HD consoles doesn't just help graphics, it also allows them to make games superior in every way possible. Whether it comes to larger enviorments, more characters on the screen at once, better draw distance, realistic physics, superior frame rate, split screen multiplayer, etc. Everything I mentioned improves the over all experience of a game not just the graphics per se.

Even as great as the Wiimote is... its no substitute for a higher quality games.

 They only help make bigger games and better graphics.

A well done FPS on Wii anihalites any FPS on the others jsut because of Wii mote

Sports games don´t stand a chance if done properly because of the wiimote¨

It´s not the wii´s fault for developers making under par games.

The bigger enviroments though is a big let down for the Wii and graphicly the wii is enough if it is used properly as Nintendo does.

For me the last xbox reached the graphical point where it isn´t the most important thing (for me at least)
