This is the joke that is develpers view of the Wii.

Sorry, but I remember going to see Ghostbusters at the cinema.

That is not what I saw. In fact it is bloody well insulting. Glad Wii isn't the only console I own.

I think i've said it before, but this person is the smartest person on the forum.

Technically this was an Activision game, before the sold the rights off to Atari.

I still don't think it's going to change everything about the gaming industry if this game looks the way it does. It still doesn't mean that it's going to be a bad game either.

The game could have been just as good without the art style.

Are you sure? I think the art style makes it unique. That will actually draw some HD consoles in because it does look more similar to the cartoon that we all grew up on. Between this and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game coming up, Nintendo could bag a lot of those nostalgic adults that grew up on that stuff (myself including).

Why was the cartoon popular? It was because of the movies. The visual style has nothing to do with the game play. Like i've said before the game will probably be good reguardless, but so will the HD versions and they won't make my HDTV cry.

XD

I really don't see your point. The HD versions still look like a cartoon. Both versions reportedly have the same theme and are nearly the same game.

However, the Wii version isn't in HD, has probably far better controls, and as far as we currently know has more options. I don't see how in any way the Wii version is more oriented to kids than the HD versions.

As far a wii = kid console overall. That's just rubbish. PS2 had far more kiddie games last gen yet the GC was considered kiddie. Its just a matter of dominance. Wii is most dominant so it gets the nicktoon games and far more shovelware.

However, it also has plenty of fantastic games in all maturity levels. The only area its lacking is graphics detail and FPS games. Graphics detail it will never mach, but hopefully The Conduit will be the jumpstart for realistic looking games, at least on par w/ what xbox received, as well as FPS.

I really think you are dragging this out simply for the sake of arguing. oh well, time to go play with my toys.

The cartoons kept the Ghostbusters franchise alive for so many more years. The movie jumpstarted their popularity but the cartoons brought it to a completely different level.

I mean....after the cartoon came out, we got Ecto-Cooler Hi-C! When i was a kid, that was the stuff!

Well i think GB2 helped in the decline of the franchise.

That movie was unnesscarily dark. Damn anti-christ undertones.

Whats Ghostbusters? Sounds lame

The PS2 had way more games aimed at adults as well. Varity is the spice of life, and the wii is killing me.

Screw the visuals. Game play will suffer because the dev team is not AAA crew. Not a slight against the dev team, but they have probably been given less budget.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

The game follows on from the story of the second movie, so copying the cartoons is stupid.

Anyone who watch that cartoon should be an adult by now anyway, why the hell would you want to play a game based on a cartoon instead of the movies?

Well there was this mess back in 1997

For those interested in discussing chibi zombies, I made a thread for it:
