I really MHG doesn't flop too. |
Considering that preorders for this game are rising, I doubt it will fail, but that IS quite low. Still if Deca Sports wasn't that much of a big IP, at least it means the mini-game collections won't dominate the system forever.
|
Much it still sold pretty well and you'd think it at least would be able to match the sales with a much larger userbase. ("it" refers to Deca Sports - not Game Party or any other game)
|
You can't really knock people for not falling for the same bad game a second though. (Given the context of the convo between me, outlawauron, and JTurner82 - the term "bad game" clearly refers to Deca Sports 2 - not Game Party or any other game)
|
I suppose that's a good thing, but it's not necessarily true (i.e Game Party 2, when Game Party was much worse than Deca Sports).
|
I'm talkin' about Deca Sports 2, not Game Party 2. I was referring the the one game specifically, not making a general statement.
|
You clearly made a general statement, otherwise you would have said something along the lines of people not falling for Deca Sports 2 when the first wasn't that good. If you don't want to make general statements, specify.
|
Wha's with the confrontational attitude and the fixation on trying to make something out of nothing? We were clearly talking about Deca Sports 1 & 2 the entire time. You just came in the convo late and misinterpreted.
Please, stop trying to take things out of context and calm down. It's really not that serious.
|
Confrontational? Am I being overly aggressive or something? I kind of assumed that one could use the quote button without being confrontational. Maybe I'll put down my weapons so you don't get frightened. I know we were talking about Deca Sports, but that still wouldn't prevent you from making a general statement. For example, I could say that since one dog based game didn't sell well on the PS3, they means none of them do or will. That's a general statement made from a specific example, similar to what you did (although as I proved earlier, your example is not true). I read over the whole thread, saw a wrong statement (don't use the context excuse), and felt like making a calm response. It was a general statement used to specify Deca Sports 2. I repeat this for emphasis. I never took anything out of context, I understand the context perfectly but felt like berating you for making a general statement. And I don't really need to calm down since your post here was the first one that sounded like it was from someone freaking out.

*sigh* For all that banter, you still misunderstood the convo. Get as anal as you want to if it makes you feel better about yourself, doesn't change anything.
You said: "For example, I could say that since one dog based game didn't sell well on the PS3, they means none of them do or will. That's a general statement made from a specific example, similar to what you did (although as I proved earlier, your example is not true)"
I didn't say anything like that. And that's a piss-poor analogy. Apple and oranges!
The fact of the matter is that my paraphrased statement: 'You can't really knock people for not falling for the same bad game a second time' was in reference to Deca Sports 2 - not every single game, but Deca Sports 2 specifically... It's clear if you read the entire convo. You bought in Game Party 2 for no reason whatsoever. Try to "prove" it was a general statement 'til your Ammy avatar is blue in the face... you're wrong either way.
Peace.

*Sigh*
Looks like someone can't have a conversation without getting mad and resorting to personal attacks. You could continue to argue with me, or just declaratively walk off saying you're right (which is what you did). Hopefully you had your fingers in your ears and were yelling "LA LA LA" too. I want you getting it right.
As for the analogy, of course you didn't say something like that. That's why it's called an analogy. It's another example to explain something. And it wasn't a piss-poor analogy, nor was it like comparing apples and oranges (way to spit out cliches by the way). You were talking about how you can't blame people for buying a sequel when the first was bad. Well, what about Mario Party 8? The last few were terrible, yet it's not the best selling Mario Party game by far.
I understand the context and I understand that your general statement was being used for one game. I'm not an idiot. I was just arguing that your general statement isn't always true. If you can't have a conversation without getting boiled up and being rude, then that's your problem.
I'm going to laugh if you continue to argue with me after you said "peace."
