I know greenmedic. I just have that luck. My 360 died on me three different times. my ps3 had to get replaced because of the fans and my LCD had white spots. Electronics are just not friendly with me it seems. I love the OS dont get me wrong.

IMO, apple's just not worth the extra money.

Soleron was simply countering apple's "high quality, power world class hardware" argument with proof that at the same quality or maybe slightly better, a windows pc is cheaper than a mac.

I've been using Macs since the 512k (over 20 years ago) and I haven't had a single day of downtime due to virus, trojan horse, worm, malware, etc.

Regardless of what the reasons are, Macs don't fall victim to all the common problems experienced by Windows users.

Yes, I do my own IT for Macs and Windows PC. I run virus, network protection, etc. on all PCs, and none on the Macs beyond the basic default security.

Still waiting for all those big holes in OSX security I never seem to run into. It would be a blast of fresh air to actually do some IT on any Mac for a change really.

Yes. Spec-matching is indeed pointless. But it's extremely lol that Apple even thinks they can market along those lines.

And replace "Intel Atom" with "AMD Athlon Neo" or "Via Nano". Both of those alternatives offer matching or better CPU power but much better integrated graphics (780G and 9400M respectively) than Intel's poor GMA-based ones. For the same price and same total system power consumption.

It always confuses me when people say Macs just work out of the box and PC's don't.  Every laptop I've gotten has just worked out of the box.  Sure, they are other programs I have to install but I would have to do that on a Mac too...

Also, the respones in the OP was just all around lame.  Way to completely side step the issues, gotta love PR spin.

lern2paragraph please. i rather see a wall of text (so that i know to skip over it) than be assaulted by stupid bullet points (in continuous-sentence form, if that makes sense) hoping to find a nugget of wisdom. simply put - most people don't enjoy macs because of the giant premium attached to them (a computer of similar specs to my laptop when i bought it would've easily been over 600 dollars more, but again, we all know macs are overpriced anywhere outside their near immediate launch date of a newer model), don't enjoy the culture that seems to follow mac users (you are a shining example of that, as well as the "i'm a mac" ads), or just simply dont enjoy the OS (i.e, me).

Anyways, a legitimate question to mac users - is there really that much of a problem with installing software on a PC when compared to a mac? The only times i ever have hiccups in the process is with a scratched CD (which is to be expected) or when the software is in a different language, and even then i know where the "next" buttons are so I can usually work my way through it.

I ask because i keep seeing how macs are so "Easy to use" and yet i personally dont see it (my personal expiriences with macs are actually frustrating when trying to get them to do what i want them to do, but then again, im native to windows). Someone mind explaining why this claim exists (as in, why is a mac easier to use than a windows / linux)? The only thing that comes to mind is that you'd get far less compatibility issues concerning hardware (since, like someone else noted - on windows you might get 80 word processors while a mac would have 8 or so, so less chances for problems to occur).

someone mind answering this for me? (i do not mean any offense with the last two paragraphs, its a legitimate question that confounds me).
