I played Killzone 2 and aside from wonderful graphics I wasn't blown away gameplay wise.  I played Resistance 2 on co-op mode and loved the gameplay but wasn't blown away by the graphics (it was splitscreen so that's probably why)

All in all I think the PS3 is not bad at all.  My friend was on 1080p and I'm on 1080i so it's hard to judge actual graphics of PS3 vs. 360.  But what got me was how similar the two systems are.  So many things are identical on both systems.  Interface may look different but underneath it's very similar.

And it dawned on me, 360 and PS3 gamers are ALL idiots for fighting tooth and nail like we do.  I would be happy if I only owned either system.  I might hate not having some 360 exclusives or not having some PS3 exclusives but I think I would be happy with what I had.  Now I can't figure out why the big "war" when obviously the HD consoles are step brothers they are so similar.

I'm tempted to get one with my tax refund so I can play with my friend but I know if I do that they will finally drop the price the day after.. and I'm not sure there are enough games I want badly to justify the purchase.  But from this point on I've officially got my eye on the system with intent to someday buy.

But I still hate sony fanboys as much as they hate microsoft fanboys ;P

edit: and 360 badly needs a net browser.

360 does not need a net browser. Thats what a PC is for

Console internet browsers are not as fast as PC/Mac internet browsers

oh I know isn't it kinda crazy at first how similar they are? I owned a 360 first and when i first plugged in my ps3 I was shocked at how much it reminded me of my 360. You should get one with your refund, this looks like its shaping up to be an excellent year to invest in one.

I know but it doesn't hurt anything to have a browser. I just think its a nice feature but I didn't see it in action so I guess it could have sucked.

BenVTrigger, they drop the price and I'm probably sold or maybe for God of War. See I fully planned to get one until Final Fantasy went multiplat. I'm just so dreading that I would get one and they cut the cost. Maybe I could find a good bundle but I don't want Metal Gear Solid and I'm not sure what other bundles there are. A little big planet bundle would tempt me.

very understandable and when I got mine I was paranoid about the same thing. Lucky for me they haven't dropped the price since so I got no regrets but it might be wise to hold out a bit longer with all the rumors flying around that its getting a drop soon.

The sony first party is what makes me run for sony consoles.

I've said it a thousand times before.  This is the SNES / Gensis all over again.   Mario is better than Sonic.  Sonic is better than Mario.   Both systems are so similar.  What the 360 offers in being cheap in price it makes up for with charging for online.  What the PS3 offers in being more expensive in price it makes up for with free online.   

I think the only REAL area where you can separate their differences is Blu-Ray / Non-Blu-Ray. But if you're someone who doesn't care about that at all?  The decision is really razor thin.

It seems that people don't know of ebay. I brought my PS3 for $350 off ebay new and a used one for $300. You don't have to wait for a price drop. Go on ebay and buy one. Some selling for less than $300.
