Forums - Gaming - Ghostbusters Game Upfront About Its Differing Art Styles

I think both the covers are great. I'll probably pick up the Wii version, depending on reviews, and borrow the 360 version from my brother if I get the time.

This is another Wii gimped game :P

You do know the Wii/PS2 version is made by an entirely different developer and made for the Wii first correct?  The Wii version isn't just a port, it's a version built from the ground up for the Wii and ported to the PS2.  The story and basic gameplay are the same, that's it.

Are you a little nervous to see how the reception the HD versions of the game get (both critical and sales) compares to the Wii/PS2 versions?

I know we're making a good game and if they make a better game, that just means we get two good Ghostbusters games.

They should make the covers double sided. So you can flip it if you like the other version.

@Fei-Hung

The developer probably pays for the rights to use the franchise, so yeah.

it would be sweet if they allow the 6axis to use the motion controls to bring the ghosts down whilst you hold the trigger to keep the beam on the ghosts. it would be sweet, so so sweet :p

Yes, that would be awesome and if it vibrated like crazy as the ghosts come closer to you... ohhh wait, the sixaxis doesn't have vibration. Good thing I have a DS3. ~_n

This reminds me of when I first saw the Wii art for the SW:Clone Wars game. I thought how bad it looked -- not realizing that it was the same art as in the actual cartoons.

If the games play well and its look is constant and does not detract from gameplay, it will be fine. I don't always like everything to look 100% lifelike.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Well, I wasn't a big fan of the Ghostbusters Movies and so I probably won't get this. I will say that I thought games are supposed to be fun and the Wii version looks like it would be fun. However, it all depends on what people like. If you want more realistic and HD then by all means get that version. You are the one spending the money to buy it so who cares what version you get...buy it and hopefully you have fun playing it.

Haha well it seems they are playing to the system's strengths so as long as it is executed well on both then why not.

Well Shaun White's Snowboarding was different like this from the PS360 version and it sold a hell of a lot better and much better critical rating.

So I don't think this is a way of yielding which will sell better or which gets rated better.  Could go either way just depends.

I actually like the Wii coverart better. Whether that translates to me liking the wii game better remains to be seen though.
