Forums - Gaming - If Metal Gear Solid were a movie, would it be praised as brilliant?

they coudl but fans of the series would probably hate it

No, it would probably suck as hell. as a movie MGS would look like a weird mix of super hero movie and war drama with an old geriatric hero doing things no one at that age posibly could. besides how much story they would have to cut out to fit in a single movie(or trilogy)?

even best game stories can easily suck as movies cause they were written for games from the start and naturally won't fit for the movie - movies and games have different pace.

Metal Gear Solid is great because it's a game. And the best part of MG series in general is not the story (which is a strong point, yes) but the BEST part is all about gameplay.

not if Ewe Boll directs it >_>

No, or at least a lot of stuff would be different.

I can't bare to think of the awkward pauses and dialog if it were an actual movie instead of a cut-scene in a game.

How would it have akward pauses?  Though akward dialogue isn't new to MGS.

It was a joke against the series.

At best, it would be a cult hit a la The Warriors.

At worst, it would be a joke.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
