The 360 has very few 3rd party exclusives, nearly all the non-Microsoft-published bestsellers were ported to the PS3 (minus that Zombie game from Valve, but that company is run by a pigheaded ex-Microsoft employee). The PS3 has more 3rd party exclusives lined up than the 360.

The 360 actually has more third party exclusives than the PS3 does Mike. A lot more actually.

Mainly some old ones (mainly from before the PS3's release) which didn't sell much. All the top 360 3rd party published games have been ported to the PS3. Not Call of Duty 2 (not that this is really an exclusive at all, it was designed and published as a multi-platform game) for example, but would there be a point to do so today?

Actually when we did the math I believe both consoles had about the same amount of retail third party exclusives when you didn't count anything before November 2006.

I'm not sure why sales are a relevant factor in this conversation. Obviously all large scale third party titles would be better off multiplatform, so discussing sales just seems to be a futile point. The smaller scale games are the ones that will continue to be exclusive sometimes, so we should concentrate on trying not to disclude them just because they don't sell very well.

I talked about the line up of 3rd party exclusives, like Demon's Soul, Quantum theory, WarDevil, Heavy Rain, L.A. Noire, etc. Existing 3rd party exclusives like Metal Gear Solid 4, Valkyria Chronicles, Yakuza 3, Disgaea 3, Time Crisis 4, etc are significant.

I'm not sure why sales are a relevant factor in this conversation.

Obviously games with a bad reception, ratings and especially sales numbers are less likely to be worthy enough to be ported. That's why the bulk of best selling 3rd party 360 games were ported to the PS3 eventually, there's sales potential ($$$).

Some games within the 360 library which did well like Call of Duty 2 are just too old, COD5 has already been released for both systems just like part 4 and 3. But of course would the PS3 have been launched a year early then most likely there would have been a port.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

NOW, how many of those MS "exclusive" titles scored 70 on Metacritic?  That's the real question.  Who cares if you have 2000 more games in the US, if they SUCK?!

can you really blame them

Yes....we can. Really, it's all Sony's fault (...and this isn't a joke).

Obviously the buying public if you look at the sales figures.

Look at the sales figures for those games 70 and under on Metacritic.  It's not the buying public (not that sales indicate fun or anything). ;)  Nice try, though.
