Forums - Gaming - How big would Goldeneye be if........

(note this is the N64 Goldeneye of course, and it has exactly the same feature as it did for the N64)

if....... it were to release on the Wii?  Seeing Madworld sales, will more of the Wii community open arms to this classic gem even if some (parents) might argue it'd still be too violent?

if....... it were to release on XBL?  Honestly Goldeneye was and still is a great FPS in its time, but current shooter games are packed with more options and playibility and better graphics.

I can see Goldeneye doing better on the Xbox360 compared to the Wii considering the type of fanbase, and it'll do alot better if only they added online gameplay.  Without online, this game would probably last you a good 15min before you get bored and play a better FPS of your choice.

It would sell for nostalgia reasons and only nostalgia reasons.

The things which made Goldeneye amazing in 1997 are now commonplace in 2009.

Not entirely. Goldeneye wasn't always run and gun, which almost every FPS game is today. Thank god for Time Splitters... I guess.

Nintendo could have had it released for the Wii if they let Microsoft put it on XBLA, but for some reason they didn't allow it to happen

Activision is the currents James Bond licence holder.  Nintendo was the original publisher.  Rare was the original developer.  They share rights to the game, according to this:

I wouldn't expect this title to ever get re-released on either console.

you go to mundorare.
but this basically supports what i meant .http://mundorare.com/news/2008/10/one-last-martini-to-goldeneye/
