I played it... looks like a "perfect" port, I don't know what could be messed up because I didn't play the original

they did it the SimCity DS way, you see the animations in the upper screen and you interact with colored squares. there's a tutorial, a free play mode and a campaign-like mode, where you unlock new gods, etc (something like that)

I don't know what issue I should find though.. it's very easy to play and the screen scheme really works, it's good to watch the game without any cursor or indicators.
