INFAMOUS will have 17 weapons, all with 3 different levels of damage that can be upgraded.

PROTOTYPE you just turn your hands into boulders or knives or tentacles. Repetitive.

nice. thats a lot of weapons. im getting more hyped for this game.

He is of course ignoring a LOT about Prototyle.

Like for example you can use any weapon the soliders use.  Machine guns, Missle launches, tanks, helicopters....

all said and done.  Prototype will have more weapons i'd almost gurantee it.

Did I mention Infamous also has better graphics than Prototype by like a mile?

Why are people still getting off to stuff like this?  Nobody cares how big your, your PS3's, or Infamous' e-penis is.

on topic: Both look like games I would want to play, depending on the type of mood I'm in.  Since I only have a 360 I"ll only be getting Prototype, but if I had a PS3 I wouldn't hesitate to pick up Infamous.

The only people who really think Prototype will be a better game are those obsessed with hurting/killing people and being as sadistic as possible. These are the future serial killers of the world.

.......phew(there is my ignorant thought of the day^^)

Proto just looks like a playground where you simply cause as much mayhem as possible with no real purpose NOR direction. It is in the same vain as GTA which is only popular because people like beating on hookers and old ladies.I hear it way too often, that Prototype is better then Infamous because it is "Gorefest". I find it sickening.

Gore/violence should not be the purpose of a game, it should be a device to further other points of the game. This is the kind thing that gets video games so much flack in the media for "influencing" small children to do terrible things(like putting their cat in the microwave :[ ).

Infamous on the other hand has substance(from what we have seen). It has a complex story, either sending you down the path of a champion or a path of a dictator. The gameplay looks solid and focused. It doesn't go "OOO!!! Look at me!!! I can do so many things that make no real sense WHY I can do them but I can do them anyway!!!!!". Instead they have taken the realistic(XMEN) aproach to Cole's abilities. You find one point....then elaberate on it. He can control electrons/electricity. He minipulates it in different ways to CREATE new abilites, without ever deviating from it. I find this much more believable. The game also boasts a free roaming world with plenty of GTA like missions to contend with.

You keep saying this stuff... but the truth is... you haven't been keeping up on both games.

actually I have been keeping up with both games fairly evenly.

And you seriously think "The Web of Intrigue" is less complex?

yes......by a mile.

I watched it again just for clarity.

So you think a straight foward linear story is less complex then a giant conspiracy theory that you have to unlock step by step.

Ok.

I am sure infamous will have plenty of little twists to keep me interested.

Twists yes. Twists don't make a plot complex though.

Besides i'd bet Prototype has it's share too.

The funniest part though is just how similar these two games are. Makes you wonder if Suckerpunch was looking over their shoulders. (Prototype was under development first.)

Right up to the memory reading.

Its one of those "wierd" coencidences of gaming. Like the fact the PS3 is purposely built with a convex design to hinder any other appliance from sitting on top of it. This automatically makes it a center piece in any living room. Oddly enough, the 360 was built with a concave design :P(ish)

I think SP and Activision started relatively at the same time(at least as far as anounced) hard to say which came first.

Wiki has Infamous announced on July 11,2007
Prototype was announced...wiki doesnt say. But I am attempting to trace back to the eldest trailer for the game. The farthest I have seen is August 21st, 2007

Prototype has been in production forever... like... 2005 or something and they had the idea for longer.

If you don't think these production guys don't know what each other are making your crazy.

Especially when it's their own idea and they're totally geeked about it.

I don't know about Prototype, but the moral decision aspect to inFAMOUS has me watching it.

You do have to enjoy that someone finally... after like 10 years of bitching got that not every moral choice has to be "Save the burning bus of nuns or murder a puppy."

I think this is a really good trailer depicting what Prototype will be. It actually makes me a little more interested........
