yo_john117 you are one special kid.

Halo is not even on your list, so you have posted proof that GT is more popular then halo.

So when is GT5 coming out, anyway?
I bet that game's the sole reason they're claiming PS3 will have a 10-year cycle, they'll release it somewhere in 2016, probably.

People already hyping games that we don't know when they are coming out.

Got to love the irony, what does it say in your sig about Alan Wake? Is there a release date for that? No.

So what is the definition of "popular"? Is it how well the games sell? Is it how well the general public knows of it? Is it how much merchandising went behind it? Or is it how big of a fan base is supporting it. Halo has GT beat on all those fronts except the sales...and even that is debatable since yo_john117 pointed out he was talking this gen, not last...hence the word "IS" in the thread title.

That brings me back to my statement "IS gt more popular than halo"

Hold on i'll get the definition of "is" from the dictionary since you have no idea what it means.

is

Is\, v. i. [AS. is; akin to G. & Goth. ist, L. est, Gr. ?, Skr. asti. [root]9. Cf. AmEntityEssenceAbsent.] The third person singular of the substantive verb be, in the indicative mood, present tense; as, he is; he is a man. See Be.

That list doesn't have too much to do with popularity seeing how some of those franchises have tons of games, nor does it take into account possible bundling, so would you honestly agree by that list, that need for speed series is twice as more popular than GT???

GT5 a game that yet to be released. and the demo not counting online sales went over 3 million?

thats like saying lost odyssey its more popular than FF

because lost odyssey its the highest selling jrpg this gen.

then FF13 havent been released yet.

I just had an interesting thought, in terms of popularity would first week release numbers have any relevancy? Also I would like to remind the hopeless fanboy twingo and his silly little sidekick killzowned that on Halo3's opening day, people were standing in lines outside of retailers that sometimes went around the building several times, the more hard core Halo fans camped out for over 24 hours just to be the first in line to get a copy, and many took a week or more off work just to play Halo 3. Has the GT series as a whole EVER seen that? will GT5 see that? I highly doubt it!

yes, i found impossible to GT4 to get 2.5 million sales first week if that didn't happen either way it sold on legs at the end of the gen and still selling now averaging 15k.

Any one with a brain does.

GT5p did 3 million at retail alone, every GT game has surpassed 9 million. First GT of this gen = massive sales. Online = massive NA sales.

GT3 sales were cut by GT4, damn thing would have sold more had it had more time. GT5 will have much more time given dev times this gen have increased greatly.

Xbots can dream all they want, the only thing bigger then GT is GTA not Halo. And looking how Europe is now a bigger pie of PS sales, GT can expect even better sales

According to this all these games are more popular than GT >_>
