well your rant doesnt alter the fact that madworld would have sold better on the PS360...

I think the fact this is a 5 hour game would have hurt it's sales on PS360 just like it does on Wii. You just have to look at Mirror's Edge's sales to see that short length really hurts game sales.

Mirror's Edge is a very different game. But it will have had more lifetime sales than Madworld on either console.

Eitherway I don't think its a the short campaign that's keep those games from selling well. CoD 4 and World at War weren't exactly long games either.

I would speculate that Madworld could sell better on PS360. I'm almost certain LBP would sell better on the Wii (Demographics). KZ2 I assume would sell better on 360 as 360 owners are shooter crazy. On the other hand I believe Star Ocean 4 , The Last Remnant and Tales of Vesperia would have sold better on the PS3 if it was a simultaneous release.

The PS2 version of Killer 7 says hello.

And to add, I don't believe MGS4 would have sold better on 360 even if it was simultaneous release. RE5 and DMC4 have shown us that franchises that appeal to Japan, tend to do better on PS3.

Tell it I said to go fuck it self!

Actually I don't know what you're talking about.

Even though I won't prove what I say, I'll give my take:

Madworld would sell a little better on 360 because the demographics of the game is closer to the demographics of the 360.

LittleBigPlanet would sell great on the Wii because it got a huge marketing campaign and games with lot of advertisement sell well on the Wii. This game also has a very broad appeal that would meet most the Wii demographics. Also, this game is really similar in concept to the 2D Mario which are strong on Nintendo consoles.

MGS4 would most likely sell as well on the 360 as on the Ps3 because it's what happens with multiplatform games such as GTA, DMC, RE5, etc.

Killzone 2 would sell better on the 360 because there is a huge audience for shotoers on 360: Halo, Gears, L4D, etc.

Valkyria Chronicles wouldn't sell well on any console.

PD:zero would most likely have sold as well on Wii as 360 as a launch title because Red Steel sold about as much and the first persons to buy the Wii are likely to have been N64 owners.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

The real question would be: where could it sell worse than on Wii?

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

I know what you mean, in principle. All the console makers will make various attempts to move outside whatever demographic they know they are currently good in - as a result you'll see games that probably would sell better on another platform for all three.

On the other hand, that doesn't negate that in many cases it is very likely that such titles would sell better on other platforms.

MS aren't backing Lips, etc. because they know those titles will sell like hotcakes on the 360, they're doing it for precisely the opposite reason. They know they are shooter/online centric with a certain demographic and are trying to extend. They're willing to take the lower sales, etc. in the process.

Same with titles on Wii or PS3.

As gamers we only want the games though, we're not (well, fanboys aside) worried about the console makers efforts - we just want access to the games. That's why non-Wii owners will grumble if they see a Wii exclusive title that suits (potentially) the HD consoles better - and vice versa as well I would imagine.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

MadWorld wouldnt have sold better on the HD systems, its too far of a change graphically, and its not a sequel. There's been little proof of original IP doing well on HD systems. Madworld wouldve done just as poorly on the HD systems. HD gaming fans are set in their ways and would have shunned it regardless.

The PS2 version of Killer 7 was outsold by the Gamecube version. Like Madworld it was bloody, mature, but niche title.
