For the past two years Ubisoft has held its own convention dubbed Ubidays: a place to showcase its latest titles and offer the press hands on experience for upcoming releases. However, the French publisher has decided not to hold the event this year, choosing instead to focus on E3, GamesCom, and TGS. A spokesperson for the company had this to say: “With regards to Ubidays, with the E3 event in the US, the GamesCom in Europe and Tokyo Games Show in Japan, we think that we’ll have great outlets to present our creativity and innovation to a worldwide audience and will therefore reconsider our plans. There won’t be an Ubidays this year.” One of the main reasons for the creation of Ubidays was the downsizing of E3. With E3 now returning to its old rockstar ways, it makes little sense for the publisher to spend money hosting its own event when it can take advantage of the larger mass-market conventions.
