Nexgenwars is a bogus site.... it uses a counter that gives a console an exact number of consoles per second, then the total sales occasionally get updated but only to things like shipment numbers or official statements.... So basically NGW will have updated the Wii figure when Nintendo stated that 50 million Wiis were "sold" at the Game Developers Conference. Nintendo's meaning of the word "sold" only means to retailers, which means it includes consoles sitting on shelves and in shop storage.


I have to admit it is rather odd explaining this for the Wii for once, the shipped =/= sold argument is usually reserved for the new users who have just heard some Sony executive open his mouth.

Someone should make a chart showing  PS2 America and Wii worldwide side by side, then show Wii America and PS3 worldwide side by side.

I wonder if that goes to xbox 360 and ps3, PSP aswell. Still By now wii has defo sold 50 million or more, same goes with DS which I think has sold over 101 million.

Quite frankly no, just that I think I noticed when wii sales were lowered, ps3 and 360 figures were increased and furthermore I find most Nintendo fans on here, and that's one of the reasons I joined.
