Forums - Gaming - What's the perfect length of any given game?

Shooters - 15- 18 hours
Action/Adventure - 20-30 hours
RTS - 10-14 hours (any longer and I go nuts)
RPG - 40-50 hours min for main quest. Post game 200-300+ hours. I don't mind rpgs taking over 100 hours to finish the core game.
MMO - 8-14 days (played time) to hit the game's level cap.

Action adventure and survival horror- 20-25 hours
Rpg > 30 hours
FPS- 14-18 hours
Sport > 10 hours
Racing > 15 hours

10-15 hours for pretty much everything. 25-30 for RPGs. I'm finding myself with less and less time to play video games.

To complete a 1 player game you mean?

More than 10 hours preferably.... if the game is solely 1 player only then it should be longer than that though, unless what you get has lots of replay value.

All I know is I thought Okami was too long, but I also loved the fact that is was so long. I still think it should have been cut a bit though, maybe 5 or 6 hours.

oddly enough LoZ:TP took longer than Okami to complete 1st time but it never seemed too long like Okami did.

50-60 hours is usually what I prefer. That equates to a dollar per hour. Games like Oblivion that can easily stretch into the 100+ hour mark are hard to come by...but so worth it :o

fps-shooter : 10 hours
Action game : 12 hours.
RPG : Lot more ( but I feel the 100 hours for some of those games gets repetitive after a while, 50-70 hours would be more my taste).

What matters however is the replay value, I've spent over 150 hours on both DMC4 and Re5 because of the damn leaderboards...
DARN you CAPCOM!!!!

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Maybe I should have named this thread "What's the most ideal length of any given game?"

I'm enjoying these responses. Would it be blasphemy for a JRPG to be 20 hours in its main quest? Would it be too much for a FPS to be 20 hours?

So many questions..

Pixel Art can be fun.

games with story, 20 hours +

simple games... depends could be 5 hours or 100 hours

for me the perfect game length is

Pre 128 bit era- 15+ hours

128 bit- 50+ hours
