Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
I personally am an atheist. However, I do realise it is not possible to prove or disprove god*
However, I believe it is foolish to believe in a personal god or gods. This is because even if we managed to prove god ('s) it would be impossible to prove an individual faiths god ('s). Therefore it would be a million to one shot of one faiths god being the correct one. Even the abrahamic god would have equal bearing as the flying spaghetti monster. This is where pastafarianism comes in.
This is also why Pascals wager is flawed as it is a million to one shot of winning the bet.
(* Even though I realise this I am not agnostic)
I'm atheist, but I thought that I would help you guys out with your cause, so here's an argument for God..
Some people collected different stories and wrote them down on scrolls. 200 years later someone compiled all the texts in a book. The book says God exists, therefore he exists!

I agree, back in these days people were also smart. It's nothing more than a creation of humanity. Religion units people and makes it easy to control people. Even if humans have created the bible, god could still exist.
Living on earth is uncertain. Dangers from everywhere nature, other humans, you just want to be as save as possible. These dangers are caused by lack of resources on earth. More poor than rich people. Humans don't want to die, they struggle for survival. Everyone has his own way of doing it. This is just an example on a large scale. It's a strategy to survive by controlling people. When you have control you can predict the outcome. That information is crucial for survival especially for a king or dictator.
Death is infinity, because infinity is death. Life is finite, and finite is life. There is no hell or heaven.
I don't think this is the reason why the bible is written. I do believe this is the way religion is used today. It's like Einstein and his A-bomb. He didn't want this for humanity. Sometimes things don't go the way you like.
I cannot be sure there is a god or not. I do know that he has not the power, need or will to give his believers a peaceful life on earth. He isn't that powerful, he is probably just a thing that caused the big bang.
I don't think you really grasp the concept of the christian god.
God said he created man in his image.. So god is human-like if you believe in the bible. However, he is also presented as an omniscient being, while having interest in a select few individuals. You could, however, make the argument that he needed to have interest in these individuals for people to have faith that he exists through religion spreading. As for god being cruel in the old testament, he was only testing humanity and punishing the wicked.
He continues to punish the wicked in the new testament, but not in his godly form.
And since christianity, judaism, and islam make almost all of the major world religions, I am confident with the "everything happens for a reason" belief over pure dumb luck.

I don't know. Without suffering there is no free will.
Without free will there is no reason to create people since they all just end up the same or as mindless puppets.
Creating a world where everything is equal and everything good gets a good reward, and everything bad gets a bad reward in effect creates a screen saver.

The only God I saw contested in the OP is the God based on Christian belief. So when do we get around disproving all the other ones ManusJustus?

The Old Testament sums up the God of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The argument covers other gods with human characteristics as well. I cannot think of a God in any religion that does not have human characteristics (please feel free to prove me wrong).
