Forums - PC - ATi HD4890X2 announced

The HD4890 was released just a few weeks ago and ATi has wasted no time in prepping a dual GPU model to follow it up with.

Cards will come with 1 Ghz core clocks and either 2 GB or 4 GB of VRAM.

We'll see these very soon because Newegg just starting clearing out their stock of HD4870X2's.  Only 2 models remain and 1 is already sold out.

I wonder how it will perform compared to the 4870X2...

wow that will annihilate everything, don't even want to know its price :|

Very nice card, indeed.

Image a pair of these in CrossFire. Aside from the need to keep a fire extinguisher handy, Crysis may finally be fully under control.

I think ATi are going to need their drivers worked out before that will happen

Last time I checked, their dual GPU cards didn't do very well in Crysis.

I have no problems with my 4870X2. I play 1900x1200 everything at very high (except shadows at high) @ ~32fps

Well, compared with the competition anyway

That's been fixed a long time ago. In fact multi GPU CrossFire does better than multi GPU SLI.
