I hated Castlevania on the N64. In more positive news, yay for 2D Castlevanias for my PSP and DS. I can't wait for them!

The key difference is that MGS4 has been in development for several years when it was assumed the PS3 would be the number one console, so it's too late now to change anything, a new console installment of Castlevania on the other hand has likely not started development yet and they now know which how the new consoles are selling.
