Cops are so stupid!!

I understand the feeling that everyone is way too critical of cops, but you can't deny something wrong here.  They took pretty extreme action for something that barely has any resemblance to a gun, and then weren't even apologetic about their mistake.  That's the kind of condescending crap that fuels the stereotype.

you do realise that d21lewis is a cop?don't you?

Read the first sentence?  I recognized his sarcasm.  I wish people would use more reading comprehension. -_-;

Edit: Yes, I know d21lewis is a cop.  I read his comments in the most disgusting thing you've ever seen thread, and his thread about how terrible the cops around him were (what they did to his significant others).

Some cop just killed someone in London last week, mistakes happen

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

... kinda funny, kinda sad

Looks like a paintball gun maybe but a real gun?

Have cops forgotten what guns look like since they were baned a few years ago?

The way you say it sounds so nonchalant that it actually gave me the chills.

All the police I've ever met here in San Diego County are awesome people. Same goes with GameStop employees (and people on this site bitch about GS employees a LOT).

I'm proud to live in southern California. ;)

^granted it was "riot control" and he had no way of knowing this guy had a weak heart but he was not a protester, that was obvious. It often seems as though riot cops are as psyched for violence as protestors are, its just awful that no one admitted anything till the video was leaked.

Oh it's not like that in L.A.  I was held at gunpoint by a cop who busted into my friend's house because the poolman accidentally set off the security alarm when he tried to put his equipment back in the garage.  Cops showed up, came into the garage, busted into the living room and pulled guns on all of us, and demanded to see identification to find out if we even lived there or if we "broke in to have a party."  It was 11 am, the alarm woke us up, we went downstairs, looked out the window, and right when we were thinking "Hm, there's the cop car, but where's the cops?" BAM! they were right behind us with guns at our faces.

I've also had a cop drive by, slam on the brakes, get out of his car, and then pad down my whole body, crotch and all, to see if I was armed.  Why?  Because I was ringing my friend's doorbell with a cane, and he thought I was trying to "break into the house."  My friend even came to the door and said he knew me and was expecting me, and the cop wouldn't let me go until he finished touching my crotch and writing a full bullshit report.

I also had a cop put his hand on his gun and start to twitch (but not pull it out that time) BECAUSE I WAS JAYWALKING.  He said he thought I was suicidal so I might be dangerous.  Since ya know, people only jaywalk when they're about to start a murder/suicide killing spree.

The whole Los Angeles area is known for bad cops.  Rodney King?  Rampart?  Don't taze me bro?

San Diego's gotta be a dream in comparison.

And now I live 1 train stop away from where that cop shot Oscar Grant!

Hey Rubang, if it makes you feel better, I'd have touched your crotch too. Benefits of the job!
