Forums - General - NHL: Thread for the 2009 Playoffs

Dang...both teams i'm rooting for lost tonight. Hard to believe the Caps are down 3-2 after going up 2-0.

May 10th Scores

  • Red Wings beat the Ducks by a score of 4-1 to take a 3-2 series lead
  • Bruins beat the Hurricanes by a score of 4-0 in order to stay alive. Hurricanes lead series at 3-2

I'm hoping the Hurricanes win in the series for the sake of seeing an up-set.

The Capitals beat the Penguins 5-4 in Overtime today to tie up the series at 3-3 forcing a Game 7 Showdown in Washington on Wednesday night.

The Canucks-Blackhawks is currently tied at 3-3 near the end of the 2nd period. Blackhawks lead the series 3-2 and if they win tonight, would be the first team to advance to the Conference final

Bye-bye Vancouver! Hope there weren't too many injuries from all that bandwagon jumping, but now you can all talk like you knew this team wasn't ready to win a cup.

Going to be a quiet night tonight.

That was an emotional roller coaster.

I'm upset. Not the fact that they lost, because the Blackhawks are a very good team........but in the way they lost. This entire year, the team was good defensively (minus January) and in this series, they sucked (pardon my phrasing).....ass.

All throughout the year this team was defense first, it was drilled into them, and then they go and play disappointing D.......it just sucks.

And Luongo, our Captain. He's supposed to step it up and take over the game........he didn't (although, to be fair he didn't have much help today). Makes me wish he went to Trevor and learned a thing or two about stepping up when your team needs you.

Best of luck to Chicago, especially if they face Detroit (I'd pick the Ducks over the Hawks though).

Hopefully Lucic and the B's can rebound, or both my teams will be out. In that case, I'll throw my support behind the winner of the Pens/Caps series (I'd prefer the Caps, cuz I like Ovy, but I've got nothing against the Pens).

I realize I sound very bitter now, but I'll get over it in a couple days. Looking back, before this season started, I thought this team would be a bubble team for the playoffs. If you told me that we would win the division, and a playoff round, I'd be ecstatic. But right now, it just hurts.

There'll be quite a few broken ankles...........half the people I know jumped off after last game.
