PC gaming is gonna get SLAUGHTERED by onlive. Do u agree?

Nope, Onlive won't support mods.

This. No mods and studd make Onlive absolutely useless.

Onlive will only sell to people who want to play PC games, but don't have a gaming pc. Is that a large group of people?

A major point of PC gaming is the fact that we get free mods addons and content from others. No BS like DLC or other shit like that.

But if your PC can't even run the game, then what good would it do to you if it supports mods or not? Onlive atleast allows you to play those recent games in a crappy PC.

May as well pick up a 360 or a PS3 then shio. Sounds like you'd like it more than the PC gaming there.

Fortunately you can buy a PC cheaper than 360/PS3 that you could use Onlive with, so there's really not much point to buy a console.

And for the record I do use mods, but there are people who can't even run the games they want, and they won't be so bothered by the lack of mods if Onlive allowed them to play those games.

No I mean right now. Why don't you get a 30 or a PS3 and play those too? They are almost the same thing as onlive right now ass it is. In fact you don't even have to worry about the latency with them!

What is OnLive lol?

Some crap that won't work.

 hahaha funny post :D

Well, I'll judge when I can see with my own eyes that the quality and picture is top notch, the response of my input is almost instantaneous, and online multiplayer lag is almost nonexistent.

No... having to upgrade your PC to play every new game to its full potential will get slaughtered by OnLive. PC Gaming will be AIDED by this greatly.

No high end pc gaming will be unaffected it's consoles that should worry.

There's no way I'm going back from playing 1920x1200 to 720p with insane control lags :D

The problem is not just resolution, it's also the video compression artifacts... Onlive's graphics will be worse than PS3/360 in some ways (and pray that you don't have to downgrade to compressed 480p if your connection can't handle the higher bitrates).

It might work depending on where is the server located and how fast can it transfer data. but we are talking about MS, a slight distance or transfer data size difference could mean a lag of up to 20 MS

Why will there be no mods for OnLive? Seems like the best way to distribute them. No having to download them. Someone would just have to go through a distribution process with the OnLive creators to place mods on the service.

^ That's the problem. You would probably need to pay, or at least go through a lot of hoops to launch a new mod, and probably every version of the mod.

It's not like Onlive will just run any random software on their servers, surely they have a QA process.

Oh, definitely.  But the process could be put in place.  And would probably clean out the 90% of the mods that are absolute trash anyway.  They could implement it in a way such as XNA where submission is automated for the most part with the final go ahead given by the community of developers.

But who is going to pay for all this?
