I've only played about 5 hours of each, but I'm going to vote for Splinter Cell - there seemed to be more of a focus on stealth, and the AI seems a bit more observant than in MGS

U have to be kidding... right! I am not even gonna answer this, cause one is nowhere near the other.

and mgs4 have better gameplay^^

I also would like to point out that about 50% of the posts in this thread are

"I have a lot of respect for Kojima and MGS, but I enjoyed SC more"

and the other 50% are

"MGS4=bestest game evar, any1 who sez SC is a n00b"

Why so much hate?

I see it more as a 55% - SC, MGS is cool though.
40% - MGS, SC isn't even in the same league.
and 5%- MSS, SC is cool though.

and this is a series thread, a lot of people are just like MGS4 blahblahblah, which I conclude some of them haven't played the whole "series" on neither game.

one could also argue that MGS story line makes god awful no sense, JP corniness or US cockiness, guess you have to pick one, I don't like corny so much.
