 Well I have to disagree with you. Personally I think this is the most underrated game of all time. It's better than so many other Jrpg's out there, that to me clearly people cant get fanboyism out their heads. ( Not necessarily aimed at you ) The game on these points is the best of any Jrpg game ever made.

Best of the genre are the following, which in a JRPG account for 80% of why we play them:

Voice Acting

Character Progression

Cinematography

Story Telling

I had no expectations for this game until a lot of you recommended it. I played it for an hour or so and tossed it on the shelf. It was nothing special.





Almost a month later, I played it again.......damn, this game rocks!!! It's 4 discs long, and I just got to disc 4 last night. It's sad, because I know the game will be over soon. Right now, I love it!! It has a couple of plot gaffs ("we'll send armed robots to catch train B, but not train A....."), but this may be one of my best gaming experiences of this gen. It's the best RPG I've played since Final Fantasy X.

9/10 for me, so far. We'll see how good disc 4 is.

Umm Cant remember where it is. Can you tell me if Jansen has sung the song yet?

LOL at 1 hour. In case of spoilers, I'll just say the Lirum bit is amazingly well written dont you think?

^^^Jansen is the coolest RPG character ever! I think he may actually be me. He says what I'm thinking and does what I'd do!! And yes he sang already. I think it was disc 3. I've put in so many hours, this week that I can't remember for sure.

And yes, the Lirum section was great. My 7 year old sits with me when I play. She gives me (terrible) advice and suggestions. She's really into the story. When Lirum was there on disc 1, my kid was dead silent, holding my right arm. Powerful stuff.

 Yeah Jansen is such an amzing character. Lost Odyssey shows up alot of Jrpg's flaws where character design and progression is concerned.

I agree. Within this generation alone, ToV and VC have both been much better than this... and this has been a pretty poor generation for JRPG's.

Wow the Microsoft haters never stop coming.

Anyway if anybody out there isn't a Microsoft hater and like Final Fantasy games this is not one to be missed.
