Microsoft have stated that they have no intention of ever letting the PS3 be cheaper than the 360. So far they have been true to their word and unless something ungodly stops the 360 from selling all of a sudden then that wont change. For at least the next couple of years, even if the xbox brand got screwed to the wall, all 360 SKU's will be cheaper than the PS3

People complaining about high prices in Europe... It's the taxes fault, not MS or Sony.

That's the ignorant answer. The real reason they cost more in Europe has to with the weakness of the US dollar. The US dollar buys less than it used to in European countries. Inversely Europeans come here and buy things cheaper than they could in there home country because of the Euro's and the Pound's strength over the dollar.
