Forums - Sony - Sega wants to make a sequel to Valkyria Chronicles

@Zkuq, i agree with you. I dont have a lot of money right now (i had to cut back on a lot of purchases such as Fallout 3, Res 5 and KZ2). i didnt purchase VC because it didnt have trophies.

Even though I am a strong advocate of all gamers getting VC, I can understand some hesitation. I cannot fully agree with paying for a game with no online, no trophies, and doesn't clock in at about 200hrs of game at full price. Maybe 30 is best.

Greatness Awaits

PSN:Forevercloud (looking for Soul Sacrifice Partners!!!)

You know, considering that the key point of this game isn't graphic, but great story and gameplay a spinoff / sequal on the PSP might be very popular (and more profitable).

I'd certainly get it on any platform.

This is incredibly good news. I hope they release any additional titles to worldwide market again. I'm sure they would, but you never know... :|

Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2:  No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?

what makes the game worth 20-30 € less without trophies?

as for akvod.. just like the ringworlds in halo.. .the valkyria dont have to be "around" to be part of the storyline they served their purpose as a plot device.. and now lets see what comes next

It's still wierd to have the game be called "Valkyria Chronicles" and not containing anything remotely related to the Valkyrians. And I believe that they have plenty of potential to be used.

You have the cold war, nuclear bomb senario I put out. Or you could have an entire squad filled with Valkyrians, or at least one (instead of a tank). I find it unlikely that they would simply get rid of the center, defining plot device that differentiated their story from just another alternative history story.

my guess is it will be a few years /decades after the war.. with only a few charas of the first game..or maybe not .as long as the new squad mascot is neither a winged pig nor a blue hedgehog

Hey man! Hans is awesome.

I agree.

But this game took Sega $50million to make and it lost them so much money. :P

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

Well, it is a new IP. The more name recognition it gets, the more consumers that purchase it. With anime and manga series, and rave reviews of the first title, hopefully it's appeal will reach a larger audience the second time around and makea bit more.

I'm not sure though. Just being hopeful. I've always figured the first title of a new IP is a bit of an investement/gamble to test the waters so to speak.

Also 50 million really?

I'd expect... 10ish.

Maybe 15 for the new engine but a sequel means more like... 12.5ish.
