What I mean is that there was gorgeous animation in the 90's. Hell, the 90's gave us Cowboy Bebop.

I know that, but EVA was gorgeuos as well and the fact that someone thinks EVA looks horrendous makes me think they expect something better, in which case the 90s is not for them.
