Elite Beat Agents. it had a story, which was hilarious. the songs were great. the stages were really fun.

just way too short and a tad bit difficult IMO

Hmm... so hard to pick. It's a toss-up between Space Channel 5 Part 2 and Umjammer Lammy. I love them both. DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!!

Vib-Ribbon is fun, but the concept is more impressive than the execution. And Masaya Matsuura is definitely not dead of a massive drug overdose; his studio NanaOn-Sha is still going strong (most recently, they've produced the DS Corner Shop games and Major Minor's Majestic March for the Wii).

Hates Nomura.

By the way, Vib-Ribbon has two spin-off games in Japan: Mojib-Ribbon and Vib-Ripple, which are apparently even more insane (though less music-oriented).
