Forums - Nintendo - Theory: NoA won't publish M games

trestres said:
I have posted this also a while ago. I firmly believe Reggie doesnt want any big media company to go out and call Nintendo out on trying to corrupt children in America. So they are taking the safe route and will only publish E games only. T or M games haven't been published since Brawl, and there's none coming up. S&P2 looks to be next but considering the recent games Reggie and NoA blocked from the USA, S&P2 looks to be the next one. Even if it was already announced for the USA, so was Disaster.

Now hold on; we don't really know for sure if it's true.  I think the whole thing about "Fatal Frame" is merely a lack of coherent communication.  Apparently someone on a Nintendo related website thinks that this is just IGN trying to get a reaction out of people:  http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=25214.msg501990#msg501990.

I'm taking all this with a grain of salt.

Tecmo said it. Either Tecmo or NoA are lying. NoA always hides the truth (lies or is very secretive) so I'd go with IGN being correct and I'll believe Tecmo. Why would they lie about it? They got a lot to lose by not selling their products and this game has a fanbase in the USA. They sounded very concerned and sorry for the longtime fans of the series.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

True, but there IS still a lot of speculation about whether this is true or not.  I'm gonna be on the fence about this; I won't totally lose my faith in NoA (knowing that there are other games coming out for the Wii cancels out the disappointment about FF4 for me), but only E3 will tell us if Reggie is indeed trying to prevent T or M rated games from crossing the borders (something which I really don't think is totally true, more like an accusation made by understandably angry fans--not that I'm all for him, but I'm not against him either.  I'm neutral.)  Still, I'll have my expectations low.

And please don't try to tell me that I am wrong; this is an attitude I cannot stand in the least.

^^^ T? What about SSBB?

I'm not, I said I was going to believe Tecmo, you can go ahead and believe whichever side you want, but I stand firm by my beliefs, never tried to force you on anything -.-

@LCEC: I said since Brawl, which was more than a year ago. And there's none anytime soon either.

FF IV will probably be published by Tecmo since they made this game, so Ninty published it in Japan , but Tecmo will probably do it overseas. And owning Disaster i can say its a really average game at best , so i think there is a quality problem there.

I think there's a publisher for FFIV which is not Nintendo and Tecmo doesn't know about it...

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

I think it has to do with profit-ability.
