You could summarize the article as 8 games that would never have existed without the Wii.

Obviously you and the author of this don´t have a clue about the Wii and theese games, without the Wii and the wiimote theese games would be ok at best. The wiimote enhances these games to what they are and that would be lost with a traditional controller.

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird.
Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

“If any creator has not played Mario, then they’re probably not a good creator. That’s something I can say with 100 percent confidence. Mario is, for game creators, the development bible.
Reading his opinion of the wii-mote controls on some of the games I have played, I can only conclude that he can't use the wii-mote well. Maybe he shakes; What is that called medically?
This is a glorified version of Wii is a fad. If you read through what he wrote that is what he is saying everytime.

I thought the No More Heroes controls were godly for fighting (especially when you got to the upgrade point where you no longer had to charge your sword).
When you get into one of those 100 enemy challenges it's almost hypnotic and zen like. I couldn't imagine playing it without the wiimote.
how is that wii fit stuff accurate?
also i played NMH and while i didnt like it, it had nothign to do with controls
i'll agree on the shooter tho, not only do i hate turning with the wiimote in a shooter, but just keeping it resting n the center of screen so you dont turn, caused me wrist aches playing metroid prime. still great game, but i wish you could turn a different way and merely aim at what you see with wii mote

I've always thought the same...I think you could do far more with the wiimote in regards to pointer controlled weapons if it wasn't hampered by being used for turning. I'd sooner see a game use the original GC Metroid Prime style controls (analogue to walk forward and turn..hold a button to strafe/look) as that would free up the pointer for more interesting uses.
