@Soriku: MHG isn't going to be big. Well not according to The Source who is calculating about 50k on the first week. That's big? No. http://vgchartz.com/forum/post.php?id=1987342
Besides Demon's Soul sold quite well because the PS3 had already had many big core releases, now it's showing legs because it's riding the other wave of mega core releases.
ARF and Kizuna both will be lucky to break 100k. Muramasa wont.

THIS. I don't see must either way to bend the tides. The interesting part in all is if the PS3 can be consistent. The way it's been dropping, and the slight drops the Wii has had it doesn't seem to likely.

 

...one thing this list really gets me interested in is what will be announce at E3 this year.

Cut the crap let's get real with a Megadude prediction.

The year that FF13 comes out (this year) PS3 outsells Wii.

The year Dragon Quest 9 (or ten I don't follow it) comes out Wii outsells PS3 again. FRACK Japan is so easy to predict.

The interesting thing is this is the first time FF and DQ have not been on the same console. SE is a true whore.

Welllll.... Nintendo could also just cut the price of the Wii, we all know they're making a huge profit on the thing. IMHO they should just bundle Wii Sports with the machine as well, like they do in all other regions. Why the HECK they don't do that is beyond me. Also, maybe it's time for some new colors and special edition Wiis. Those Japanese people go crazy about them. And Nintendo's already doing that with DS, 2 days can't go by without at least three new colors being announced and every RPG's release is celebrated with a special collector's edition custom DS. So, like, why not Wii?

But seriously now, I think a price cut, the inclusion of Wii Sports and some alternate colors (I humbly suggest black, pink, lime, blue and silver for Japan) could go a long way. A very long way.

am i the only one who thinks monster hunter 3 wont be huge?

think about it, it sold well because u could play with 4 people in one room, but monster hunter 3 only allows 2 players... it will sell like crap imo, (well not crap just no where near as big as u all think)

As said in the other thread the Wii will wipe the floor with the PS3 in terms of sales in Japan soon enough. Quality of games though is the complete opposite which is really really sad.

Uh...both are going to get announcements. Both have really good lineups, but unlike the Wii, the PS3 drops lower than the Wii after a few weeks even if it got big releases while the Wii gets nothing as we've seen this year. The PS3 games will help a lot, but so will the Wii games, and there's more interest in the Wii than the PS3 in Japan anyway.

And why do you think MH3 won't be big? It will be bigger than any of the previous home console MH's for sure. I say this based on the sudden burst of popularity the series got. Competing with FF and DQ for the biggest core franchise (outside Nintendo's games) is quite unusual. Anyone not seeing that MH3 will be big is in denial or out of touch with reality. MHG on the other hand will be insignificant.
