More interesting? I'd go Star Trek.

More varied races, interesting races, more varied technology....

I mean in most Star Trek shows it seemed like you met a new thing every episode.

While the Star Wars movies could only do so much... and the expanded universe is largely crap.

That was the big problem with the Start Treck Universe for me. Every episode was

Alien - "Welcome to our planet, we're a race of people that look just like you but have bumps on our noses. Our entire society revolves around a very simple social problem"

Starfleet - "Well have you tried using human compassion and ingenuity?"

Alien - "Gee, never thought of that. Thank you so much for saving our society with your values and our planet by reversing a particle stream or some other tech babble"

Starwars had one giant living universe in which everything interacted. I don't think anything in Startreck ever matched up to when you walk in to Mos Eisley Canteena.

wow, how incredibly ignorant, do you even watch Star Trek? its so much more than that.

Ten Forward, Risa, Quarks Bar, to name just 3 places like that in Star Trek

Yes, I did watch Startreck... A lot. And no, I don't think the soap opera with makeup that was Deep Space 9 added much to the series to elevate it over the Starwars Universe. Quarks bar never really felt alive to me in anyway. It looked like a big old set with far too few people in it.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

i thought DS9 was very good, if you watch all of DS9, there are alot of episodes when the bar is full and lively

To me the bar really lent to the soap opera feel. This entire giant space station only has one bar? It's the one place for all the characters to go in their off time and there's almost always the same two or three people sitting at the counter? It's just like the Young and the Restless when every single main character always goes out to dinner at the same restaurant. I get that you only have so much to spend on sets.

DS9 on a whole really let me down. To me at least, they really didn't nail the whole "space station on the brink of nowhere" feel. Now for a space station that feels alive and bustling. Watch "The Message" episode of Firefly. Now I'd watch a show set in that space station for sure.

ive seen Firefly, i was very dissapointed with it, after all the hype, i had expected alot more, it had a very bad atmosthere to it, i felt like the episodes tried to hard to stick to a plot that wasnt brilliant in the first place, compared to DS9 it falls down on all accounts imo

DS9 didnt feel like a soap opera to me at all, it felt like a good sci-fi show with a good premise, like any show it has its good and bad episodes, but i liked most of the characthers and many of the plot lines

^^^ I'm not sure how to respond to that... Wait a sec *Dashes off to your profile*

Yup. My worst fears are confirmed, you listed Voyager as one of your favourite shows... I didn't want to ask if you liked voyager for fear of offending you, but... number 5? I uh... I gotta go.
