But yes, PDZ was ass. PDZ for the xbox1 would've looked nice, but still would've been ass because the core game sucked.

 

I have played Riddick and didn't see anything "special" about it.  A lot of the scenes had a very plastic like gloss to them.  I'd choose Star Wars Rogue Squadron as the best looking game from last gen.  Sadly it was also a launch title.

 

The plastic gloss is what irritates me about some of these "next-gen" titles. But riddick still looks pretty, especially when you play the first level on an hdtv. Actually, the game is fugly without one.

 What? Where is this influx of Nintendo fanboys coming from? Ive not even mentioned Nintendo in OP. I meant it looks better than PDZ on 360 IMO. I prefer the real look of it when it was on Xbox 1. 360 went cartoony and overbloomed.

Them's the facts. The game has some nice effects but I'd wanna see it have those effects locked in at 30 FPS and with enemies on screen and actual action taking place before I could judge it.. I mean it's like that PS3 tech demo that was basically just a rendering of a car. It's not a game so who cares?

That wasnt the idea of the thread. It was to look back, The game was originally gonna be on Gamecube. Personally seeing footage like this is very chilling. Looking at what Rare did with PD on N64 I dont doubt that if they had released PDZ on Xbox 1 they would have drained every ounce of power they could.

Personally the rain effects are even better than most this gen, also the bit with the green lighting really amazes me. This is last gen hardware people. I think there is some impressive tech there. Made me think, wow plenty of power left in our 360/PS3's yet.

Why the hell do fanboys trounce every thread all the time now. Even a normal look back thread gets hounded by sour fanboys. Sigh.

The bolded i can agree with, does this mean CGI-Like quality graphics is still possible this gen?

 Fixed. We never want to see another PDZ EVER again. PD 2 is the way forward.
