Forums - Microsoft - Perfect Dark Zero XBOX 1 footage. LOL it looks better !!!!

It looks better in my opinion. It's not cartoony. Perfect Dark on N64 was not cartoony. This Xbox 1 version of graphics I like more because it looks more real. Man Rare got some wicked lighting effects out of the Xbox 1.

This footage should put to rest the not so bright argument that the Gamecube had the same type graphical power as the original xbox.

 Ummm... how?

OT: The reason the 360 version looked so bad was the excessive amounts of bloom lighting.  I'm not sure why they did that...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

The footage in this video looks better than any shooter I saw on Gamecube.  It even looks almost as good in some ways as Mirror's Edge and better than The Conduit.

I still think Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 xbox look better than this though.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

Resident evil 4 looks better than this but that is not the hardware fault capcom have better artists than rare.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

this doesnt look that good...?

Here's a video from my band's last show Check out more (bigger) videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/icemanout

ha yea it looks so amazing /sarcasm

its going at majority of the time 20fps, no shots fired most time, no enemies. just some tech demo basically so whatever. and when he starts shooting fps drops like instantly to 15, heck even fast turning does. imagine throwing in 5 enemies on screen, or for a good game more enemies.

also metroid and re4 are better than this.

Exactly.  It was like Rare got a new toy and decided to play with it far too much.  Looked like someone smeared vaseline all over the TV whenever I played.  Texture work was horrible too.

Yes. The GC Metroid games as well as RE4 look waayy better than this. And those games actually had, you know, things happening in them. Not even close. Bleh to PDZ XB1.

^ Why the comparisons. This is obviously a tech demo where Rare were testing different techniques. Major LOL at anyone comparing them to a fully finished game.

That wasnt the idea of the thread. It was to look back, The game was originally gonna be on Gamecube. Personally seeing footage like this is very chilling. Looking at what Rare did with PD on N64 I dont doubt that if they had released PDZ on Xbox 1 they would have drained every ounce of power they could.

Personally the rain effects are even better than most this gen, also the bit with the green lighting really amazes me. This is last gen hardware people. I think there is some impressive tech there. Made me think, wow plenty of power left in our 360/PS3's yet.

Why the hell do fanboys trounce every thread all the time now. Even a normal look back thread gets hounded by sour fanboys. Sigh.
