Forums - Microsoft - Have you played Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust?

I was looking at a list of the 360's games, and I noticed a new game I hadn't heard anything about:  Leisure Suit Larry:  Box Office Bust.

"The Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust video game gives gamers an all-access pass to the glitz, glamour and gorgeous women of Tinseltown. In this 3rd person adventure game, Larry takes a summer job working on his uncle Larry’s movie lot doing odd jobs and trying to uncover a mole from another studio who threatens to air the studio's dirty laundry in the tabloids. Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust is a rollicking, innuendo-laden lampoon of Hollywood that features open world sand box game play that includes exploration, platforming, racing and puzzle-solving to complete missions. Additionally, the game features an all-new Directors Game that allows the player to create their very own "Larry Feature." True to form, Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust features sophomoric comedy and bombshell babes thanks to the writing talents of Allen Covert and an All-Star cast of actors and actresses, including Jay Mohr, Dave Attell, Shannon Elizabeth, Carmen Elektra, Patrick Warburton, Jeffrey Tambor, Nikki Cox, Peter Graves, Jane Lynch and Josh Keaton as the voice of Larry Loveage. [Sierra]

From the game's description, this would be a game I would be looking forward to, I spent many of my formative years playing PC games from Sierra including the Original Leisure Suit Larry Games.

However, this game, that released on 3-31-09 has been getting slammed by critics and users at Metacritic.  It has a 31 Metacritic score and a 1.6 out of 10 user score.

If you're a long-time Leisure Suit Larry fan and you've played this game (I didn't even know it was going to be released), do you think this is a horrible game or do you think people that have enjoyed past Leisure Suit Larry games will enjoy this one?

I heard about this game a long time ago, and completely forgot about it.

Note that I also used to play a lot of Police quest, Space Quest, Larry Laffer... etc... in the past.. but I don't think I will play this one...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Well, Wii fans say you can't always go by what review scores indicate, so if that's true of Wii games, I'm hoping it is also true of Sierra games.

Yeah ok but here it is a bit extreme

When the games get a 6/10, 7/10 ... maybe so... but a 2/10... with such bad comments... naaa

"It's only a joke at all because the funny thing is before long you will want to get into your car and drive as far away as you can from this game. Then you will want to use heavy machinery to crush everyone involved in its creation, from the person responsible for drawing Larry's hateful face to the person who put the staples in the manuals."

The review is probably funnier than the game itself !
