Forums - Sony - The problem for Sony at the moment as I see it.

I will use my own experience as an example.

So my 360 dies for a second time in 27 months and I am a bit peeved about it.

So I start thinking hey maybe I will go ps3, after all it has lots of games I fancy giving a lash.

But when I check the price it is 230 Euro dearer than the arcade 360.

So now I am saying well if I get the arcade and in 12 months the ps3 is 250 it is all win.

Catalogue will be even bigger and loads of cheap second hand games to get in to.

That is just an example of where I would be coming from as 169 Euro is manageable at the minute where as 399 is not.

So take the average PS2 guy wanting to go next gen, how many would be thinking the same way say 75% maybe or even 50%.

Now take the parent who is getting one for the birthday boy or girl or Xmas, whatever the occasion.

Same scenario money a bit tight so into shop to see what is the least costly.

Asks sales assistant about the pros and cons, Sales assistant says well the PS has BR Wireless etc etc.

Parent goes home and says to the kid; look the 360 is not much different really if you take certain things out of the occasion.

Parent saves lets say 180 Euro if he buys the HD.

So how can Sony bridge that gap at the moment?

Some may say well when it is 250 happy days.

But at that stage with the 360 5 years old MS could start talking and leaking about there next console.

Maybe they will say it is fully BC and show a few teasers of games to launch with it.

Any way that is my analysis of things at the moment for what it is worth.

You basically conclude that the price is too high, or did I miss something?

Because that's pretty much what everyone agrees on at the moment
