But if your proud of who you are, then why does it matter how someone else views you?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

honestly i have never heard of pascals wager so i couldnt say. as for picking one god over another, i guess it would be up to you. i know however from personal experience with my relationship with Jesus Christ, that he is real. if in fact He did/does exist(which there is so much evidence to prove that he did) he was either a lier, lunatic, or He is who he said He is. if he is either of the first two things then it discredits all of His teachings. if however He is who He says He is, then he is in fact the only true God. he does not require a "high moral lifestyle to get into heaven". he requires a personal relationship with him and he extends grace and mercy. you cant get to heaven through good works, only through a relationship with Jesus Christ. weather you chose to accept it or not or believe that Jesus existed or not is a choice you have to make for yourself.

Pascals wager was basically...
"I am a Christian, If I am right I get everything when I die and if I am wrong then I lose nothing"

Pascals wager is basically saying it's better to bet on there being a god than there not being a god, so you don't go to hell. The problem is there's too many gods to pick from.
All gods tell their believers that they're the almighty god, allah tells muslims that he's the true god, satan tells satanists he's the true god, and so on.

About the quote I bolded, it's possible that all gods may exist in the information that we don't know... That's why I'm agnostic towards all gods. It's possible that they all may be influencial spirit beings... Who knows? I can't see the past or the afterlife, i'll make no assumtions, since I have nothing to base those assumtions on. Something I like to ask christians is what was there personal experience with jesus like. Do you mind if I ask you that? It could be possible that there's a positive force that people get in touch with, and you're in touch with it, but you just choose to call it Jesus Christ. It also might be possible you're crazy. Either way you seem like a nice person overall. You sound christ-like rather than christian. I like that. :) Too many christians come off as hateful.

my personal experience started when i was young, about 6. i am not one of these christians who was really messed up and gave my life to Christ and had a complete turn around, although i know many people like that. however my faith and experience with jesus has grown and changed with time. he has shown himself to me in so many ways. i have a peace even when i go through crappy things. i have a freedom that i cant really even explain and a strength to get through things that i know i couldnt get through without him. just for example, my husband and i had been trying for over a year and a half to have a baby. it was so hard for me, but i had a peace. god kept putting people in my path who would share things with me and encourage me just when i needed it and had been asking him for it. if it wasnt for my faith in him and his love toward me im sure i would have gotten into a depression and just given up. it is hard for me to explain sometimes other than to say that he has held my family together through some hard times, he has remained faithful to me and i dont know where i would be or how messed up my life would be by now if i did not know him. however it is something that you would have to experience for yourself in order to truly know what i mean.
i am glad that you think i sound more "christ-like rather than christian". there are indeed many christians who come off as hateful and that is either because they are not truly christians or they are so caught up in their religion and are so legalistic that they cant see past their traditions and how pleased they are with themselves that they follow aaalllllll the rules and somehow that is what matters most. jesus actually broke a lot of the "religious" rules of that time bacause he was about people not religion.
Wessle - not really.
If your Muslim, then it's entirely upto Allah's will if you get into paradise. If your a Christian, or infidel, it makes no matter, because Allah had willed it. There is no choice in where you go to in the afterlife.
Satanism says there is no afterlife at all. So that one is irrelevant to the conversation.
Buddhists say there is an afterlife, and through Nirvana, can you obtain it. Since there is reincarnation, then you still have a second chance at obtaining Nirvana. Not only this, many of the ways to get to Nirvana are consistent with Christianity, including deeds, righteousness, virtue, and effort.
Hindus believe in reincarnation, and through good karma, you will break free of the cycle...Again, you get a second chance. Christians, I'd think (the good Christians, at least) should have very good karma due to charitable works, thus could get a pretty favorable reincarnation, if not break free from the cycle on their try as a Christian.
Therefore, if you are Christian, you have a good chance of paradise under all other major religions.

Don't Hindus hold Christ in extremely high regards? like a demi-god despite not being part of the religion directly? I think I heard that somewhere once.

You could always pray and tell God to his face that if He's real, he needs to show you somehow, in some way.
Works for a lot of people that are now Christians. You don't have to believe in a God based on faith alone. If He's real, and really wants to be in your life, than He will show you He's for real. I've tested him countless times in 23 years, and God's always proven himself to be real to me.

Allah is the same as the Christian god and Jesus is held as a major prophet in their religion. Basically same religion, except Islam added Muhammed and a bunch of rules into the mix.
But I see what you mean, the same example could be made with Rah, Thor or anyone. Even if christianity is safe under perhaps 10 religions then you have increased your chances from 1/1,000,000 to 10/1,000,000... It would still be dangerous to place a bet.

I believe in God too.
Personally, i think that people turn to atheism not because of science but just because they want to use it as a reason for being able to do whatever they want.
