Forums - Gaming - Konami to release game based on 2004 Fallujah battle

Now This could be very good.

Konami’s announced Six Days in Fallujah, a third-person tactical shooter based on 2004’s battle for the Iraqi city that left 38 US soldiers and 1,200 opposition forces dead, according to this LA Times report.

American developer Atomic Games is developing the title, which will release in 2010.

Said Atomic boss Peter Tamte: “For us, the challenge was, ‘How do you present the horrors of war in a game that is also entertaining, but also gives people insight into a historical situation in a way that only a video game can provide?’

“Our goal is to give people that insight, of what it’s like to be a Marine during that event, what it’s like to be a civilian in the city and what it’s like to be an insurgent.”

There’s tons more through there.

Thats what I was thinking too.

OT: Huh. Well, now we've got a game called SDF, I wonder how the Sony Defense Force is gonna react.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Reminds me of ps3 vs wii or gamecube vs ps2 lol

I dont think anyone will care about this kind of game.

Was there ever a game released for "Black hawk down", or the corresponding Somalia US op incident?

Well it will be ok since the games abbreviation will actually be SDIF,  see no confusion

OT:  Well this could be an interesting game,  since it would be about a battle for a very recent war.  I will keep an eye out for it.

Without doing research, I have visions of a lot of air and artillery fire leveling the battlefield before coalition forces go in on ground. Also, a bunch of coalition tanks being hit with Iraqi tank fire and the rounds bouncing off.

actually, this would be the norm for any US vs. non-major power. The US armed forces have the best technology in the world. When you can come in with tanks, air support, and a well equiped, protected, and prepared millitary, there isn't much stopping you.

However, even though 38 US soldiers were killed, hundreds more were injured.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

they took all of that against the hand-made ak's the iraqis had.

on topic- i dont like the idea of the game. there shouldnt be any games about the current iraq war because the war is pointless since the iraqis never committed any crime (towards us at least).
