Forums - General - my gamestop rant

Surely it would be easier to have all old games categorised behind the counter, or out back, that way, it'd only take 30 seconds to find a game.

Sure, it'll probably take a couple of hours to start with, but you'd end up saving loads of time in the long run.

there are other gamestores that have all their games behind the counter and behind glass.. so customers cant rifle through them and mix them all up. if you ask for a game at bre software, they can find it in less than 30 seconds.

That rant was too contrived.

I'd give good odds that one day of customer service at Walmart is worse. A friend of mine has it once in a while and we've all learned to avoid him after he gets back on those days. I think it's slowly killing his inner child.

i usually at least look for the game. if i cant find it i ask if they have it. if they say that they do then i say just point me to the correct section.

Well, I worked at Dairy Queen last summer, and it was just horrible. The people there were not only assholes, but also complete morons. Heck, half of them don't even speak English.

There was this guy who ordered a hot dog (I have no idea why anyone buys non dairy products at DQ; the quality is terrible), then yelled at me when he didn't get it (we were really busy; I told him to go wait over at the other side of the counter to pick up his food, and his hot dog was sitting right in front of him the whole time).

Then, there was the fact that everyone but me (which includes the managers) would be messing around the whole time when no one was there. So I'd be the only one cleaning while they did God knows what in the back. Plus, people made massive, and I mean massive messes when making the stuff. Then they'd just leave it there.

Another thing, the meat there is terrible. Honestly, I don't know why people order it; half of it is all dried when it's cooked up.

Oh, and the cooks would steal like half of the food from the kitchen every night.

The machines also sucked. I remember once we had 5 of 6 pumps that gave icecream break on the same day.

Going back to the whole thing with people failing at life, I swear that some of them literally took their food and smeared it all over the table. Everywhere. Some of the messes were just unbelievable. Why order food if you're just gonna throw it everywhere and make me clean it up? God, I'm just glad I didn't have to clean the bathrooms...

I am happy that I cheated them out of a bit of money, in a way at least. Basically, they had a deal where you could get some food for really cheap, and when I used the employee discount, I got it for insanely cheap. I then took a 15 minute break, and ate the food. During this time, I was bored and figured out that given the cost of the food, and how much I made during those 15 minutes, Dairy Queen was actually paying me to eat their food. That made me happy. =D

That's retail..and i'm pretty sure they can't legally make you work for free so you're really just giving in to your managers by doing that..it's your own fault.

Sadly, there's not much you can do to win in the retail game. If you ever do inventory, you can take a peek at the actual costs or some stuff. When you're paying "insanely cheap" for something, the store is still probably making a couple cents off of it still ^_^

Actually, he posted in every thread. Even threads that he didn't post in.

Well, given the quality of the meat, I wouldn't be surprised, but considering the cost of all the stuff on there, I also wouldn't be surprised if I'm right, given the amount of stuff I got for that price. Don't ruin my hopes! That's what got me through the summer. =/
