ok so i work at gamestop, and i decided to make this thread because i saw the gamedays sale in the news section of this site. and while all of you may be excited, its one of the worst fucking times to work at this piece of shit store.

saturday was stressful. nobody wants to fucking deal with gamedays so everything is put off until the day before for all those poor saps working on saturday. yep, i was one of them. so i had to find all these fucking games, gut them, put those stupid ass fucking stickers on them, and put them in a drawer (trust me its time consuming), and on top of that, have to deal with a bunch of dumb ass customers who dont know shit from jack shit. god its so fucking annoying when you are stressing to try to get this shit done before you close (otherwise you will be stuck there for like 2 hours.. WHICH WE WERE ANYWAY), and some stupid ass kid comes up and asks you for some random ass ps2 game. god damn it, these customers who come up and act like its a fucking burger king annoy the shit out of me. theyll come up as soon as they walk in.. 'you got red dead revolver for the ps2?' so i check the fucking computer.. 'yea, we got it for 4.99' and then their typical dumb ass reply is.. 'k... ill take it'

so then i gotta fucking search around for the goddam case that is who the fuck knows where. its probably in the 9.99 and under bin, but really, who even knows if its going to be there. i mean honestly, who even knows if teh case for this game is even in our store. but whatever, when shit like that happens, it usually takes 5 to 10 minutes to deal with. and when having to deal with gamedays or marketing or whatever the hell else we have to do, it really does wear thin on your nerves.

the worst is when sunday arrives though.. the first day of gamedays. what makes it so bad? well.. its not only the first day of gamedays, but its fucking marketing time too. so we have to take all the old marketing in the store and put in new ones while there are a shitload of customers in the store being stupid. so im trying to help these assholes, while working my fastest to get marketing done so i dont have to stay in the fucking store for two extra hours after closing.. because if you exceed a half hour doing what needs to get done in closing, then youre fucked. youre not going to get payed, and youre not going to leave. its that simple. gamestop doesnt give a fuck how many dumbass customers come in the store and fuck up your shit, or how much marketing you need to get done. not to mention that we are already underpayed at it is, fuck i HATE THAT STORE!

the only thing gamestop cares about is making money at the expense of its employees. i cannot tell you how many hours i worked there for free. last newyears, my friend and i were working FIVE HOURS AFTER CLOSING. we had to get a shit load of category counts done and 12 31 08 was the date it was due, and nobody wanted to fucking do it. so it fell on us to do this shit and we stayed until 1230. yea, we missed fucking new years.

oh yea, and when we get a buy 2 get 1 free sale, guess what? no employee discount. free guitar with purchase of guitar hero aerosmith.. guess what? no employee discount. I FUCKING HATE THAT FUCKING STORE!

So Gamestop doesn't care who they screw, even their own employees! Now I don't feel so bad.

i remember having to do that only when they are trading in a next generation system. i was working with the manager the last time i took back a wii and he didnt make me do it, so i dont think we do it anymore. i dont know if its just our store or what.. but dont take it personally. lol.

hate gamestop for being such corporate fucks. we arent as cool as we try to make it seem like. gamestop doesnt care about you, or about the employees. all they care about is making money.

the way i cope with this is (since im such a huge nintendo fan) is to make sure to sell any nintendo stuff new. if somebody is interested in buying anything wii or ds used, i try to tell them the benefits of buying new. its really easy since if something is like 20, gamestop will sell it for 18. if its 50, theyll sell it for 45. so really its their, faults.

anyways it makes me feel good because it feels like im working for nintendo.. a company that genuinely cares about its consumers and not some fucking piece of shit company that steals money from developers by selling their shit used. gamestop is a detrement to the gaming industry.

well im not.. just combine that with the fact that they never put in the effort to at least try to look for it, and we are underpayed, and we have a bunch of shit to get done that day.

oh yea and you have to try to manipulate people into signing up for the edge card and reserving games that they dont want. its all one big burrito of bullshit.

i ask.... that saves me a lot of time..... im the customer and ur job is to help me :P

So instead of looking through the hundreds of games on the shelves to find one in particular, he asks you if you have it first? What a terrible kid.
