I played Time Splitters: Future Perfect the other day, for the first time in years, for GCN. After having clocked almost 30 hours in Metroid Prime 3, it just showed me how obsolete dual-analogue is for controlling shooters.

I would say that people who haven't played MP3, MOH:H2 or CoD: WaW Wii probably shouldn't care so much because they wouldn't know what they're missing, and will probably dismiss as "last-gen" or what have you (or, as a poster on another site so eloquently said, he'd rather have good graphics than a goofy dildo controller in a shooter [paraphrased]). But, if you've played any of those three games, then you'll understand how much potential the Wii has for shooters due to the Wiimote, despite not having as much horsepower as the HD twins. Which is plenty reason to be excited - the Conduit will be an experience completely unlike the shooters on other consoles.

This goes out to the Wii fans on here, first and foremost.  For MONTHS, The Conduit has been talked up on here as being something awesome and so on.  This developer's diary video makes it look kinda cool, in the customizing of the layout and so on:

http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/theconduit/video/6204895/the-conduit-behind-the-scenes-1?hd=0

But, the impression I get from it is: If you only system you own is a Wii, and you don't have a PC, PS3 or 360, then this would be worth considering.

So, why should anyone else who owns a 360 or PS3 or PC that can play up to day FPS titles care about this?  One can argue for Metroid Prime doing something unique, and it is METROID after all.  But, the Conduit?  Why would anyone outside a Wii-only owner care about it and discuss it?

Contrast this with discussions of Unreal Tournament (for AI), Gears of War and Killzone 2 (for graphics), and Halo (number of mods and players online).  But the Conduit?  Seems to me like a poorman's alternative to a bunch of other games on more powerful systems. However, please correct me here.  Why should anyone who owns something else besides a Wii care about it?  Are we back to the world has to buy it so that the Wii gets more then Carnival Games?  Or, maybe it is to save Sega from going under.

@bolded: Notice that you had different reasons for recommending each game over the other and yet still can't realize the driving point of the Conduit is something none of those titles possess, Wii controls. So yes, while you can say the Conduit does not have those strong suits the other games have, those same games do not have the Wii's controls. If you had been paying attention to people that are excited about the Conduit, you'll notice that is an important part of why they want it so much.

oh dammit! here we goe again?! More silly posion from HD fans.

I am not that wild on TC. There, do you feel better now? But seriosuly, why you xbox360 and PS3 owners care that much what kind of game wii owners would like to play or not? what's the big deal?

Besides the game seems of good quality. That should be good enough?

Tell me one AAA fps title on the wii(mp3 doesn't count, it's no fps at all)

That's why...

I own a Wii but i own a PS3 too, I couldnt care less for the conduit

COD4, Killzone2, resistance2...in the future MordenWarfare2....and MAG

I guess its mostly a Wii-only owners thing

Why not? I want a change, a FPS for my Wii. I kinda like the Wii controls on FPS's. I don't have a PS3 or Xbox360 though, but even if I had one, I would never buy/play a FPS on it. I have my PC for that.

So you wouldn't buy an HD FPS games even if it doesn't have a PC port? But you'll buy whatever FPS finds its way on Wii and has a lot of hype? I like your thinking.

It's quite hard to explain the feeling of playing a FPS on the Wii for the first time, especially to an HD gamer who won't give the Wii a chance. Try it out.

I had a Wii and I've played FPS games on it. So if anyone wants my advice sell your Wii now and get an Xbox 360. Its a much better experience in both gameplay and control.

Not really, its just that I can't stand the controls on xbox360/ps3. I've been a PC gamer most of my life, having played FPS games a lot, I'm used to mouse/keyboard. Wii remotes for FPS is just something... refreshing. And I like it. And Conduit does seem to be pretty good, customizing controls, online, not WW2 setting...
