And madden, and GTA, and Guitar hero..... Their the mindless consumer who only buys the hyped up "Cool" games, like the above and the summer movie tie-ins. They, along with the casual audience, for the bull-shit sandwich that traps actual games in a stat of cynicism and self-consciousness about their own hobby, because they are worried that these two combined monarchs of idocy and faggotry are so large that the studios and developers will cease any effort to produce actual games and just pump out endless shovel ware made of shooters, rapper-indorced piles of shit, and anything with 'sports' in it's title. Does that help?

*Whistles* Wow that is a lot of hate....I'm guessing you have seen one in the wild and they have annoyed the crap out of you, haven't they?
@OT: This is one interesting thread. To answer the question, you have to consider the two sides: Wii-owners and non-Wii owners. For the Wii-owners, those that actually like and tolerate FPS shooters should get this game for sure. The controls seem to be looking great and it seems to be as generic as all the other shooters (in my eyes, the eyes of one who dislikes shooters). Though the graphics seem to be lacking compared to other games in general, it still reminds me of the N64 glory days of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, just shinier.
As for me, I am actually looking forward to this game. The reason that I have not gotten into other shooters in the past is the fact that I just hated how the controls have evolved. In the N64 days, the C-stick was like a D-pad, and I felt I had more control. Now, when I play Halo with his 360, I just get fustrated as hell and just go "BLAH! Humbug! I'm going back to my Wii." (or more likely, Homework since I'm a serious college student). Now, if I play the Conduit, if the controls are similiar to MP3, I feel it might be more realistic (as much as a video game can be). Now if I mess up in shooting an alien, I can blame my own hand-eye coordination rather than the stupid dual-analog. I mean, I fired a real gun in a firing range. How can someone say that shooters in the 360 and PS3 are more realistic when you are using two analog knobs to line up your shot and to move?
But remember, this is just my opinion as a gamer, nothing more, nothing less.
@Barozi
That is the thing, isn't it? In the end, this is just a discussion of gamers' opinions on which is better to use. When one group starts to attack the other group's opinions and preferences, however, that is when it gets out of hand.
