Forums - Gaming - Why would anyone but Wii owners care about The Conduit?

As far as I know, it's the first Wii-exclusive FPS, and it's not like there are lots of good Wii FPS games in the first place.

Some Wii FPSs don't have multiplayer (or at least not good multiplayer), so for most Wii owners this will feel like a new experience. if the game has good quality, it will certainly stand out as a special game.

Metroid prime?

Did you notice that the topic of this thread is other than wii owners? Are you saying that they should care about TC because of... online multiplayer? Wow.

Metroid Prime is not really a FPS, though it has FPS controls. It also doesn't have multiplayer, so it's not the same kind of experience as The Conduit will provide.

Non-Wii owners should care about this game if they want complete a FPS experience with IR/motion controls. Isn't that pretty obvious given what defines the Wii as a platform? It's not exactly rocket surgery.

@ Esa: This site doesn't track PC games, and your post is a shift of the burden of proof.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

The real question is why would someone who doesn't own a Wii make a thread on a Wii exclusive game?

Shouldn't you discussing the games you own for the system?

"Considering FPS games sell better on consoles with dual analog... I guess the masses have spoken."

That is pretty obvious, dual analog on fps games > wiimote according to paying customers.

Name one FPS that came out at the same time for both consoles with dual analog and wiimote and isn't gimped on the Wii version.  Considering there isn't such a game to make a comparison, I say....

wiimote > dual analog according to paying customers.  They are just waiting for such games.

I'd rather say: existing Xbox/PS Shooters > Wii Shooters.

That really isn't so hard.

Come on guys... just ignore the troll!!

On the other hand, at least he is helping to advertise this game by keeping this thread high. Keep on going :)

I'm not a troll... this is a discussion and people are giving me their opinions as if they're fact.

Eitherway if the Conduit is a good game I hope it sells. But I'm expecting an average game at best.

If you're not, it looks like it. Honestly, when you start treating Wii gamers as gays or "NO WAGLE = FLOP", there's nothing else to discuss.

If you want to keep this discussion healthy, stop those kind of comments.

As my opinion goes, I don't like The Conduit graphics. Actually, I think they're one of the worst on the Wii. And this is because it follows the trend I hate on the HD systems: lots of effects, lightning, bump mapping, bla bla... no art direction at all and no feeling. I own all current gen systems and I'm truly seek of it. And that's why games like Okami, Madworld, Valkirya Chronicles, Braid, World of Goo, etc, are such a breath of fresh air in this indutry.

Despite this, I'll buy it (probably not at launch). It seems a decent effort, despite not going in the direction I would like it to go. And I really hope to have fun with it, speacially online, since I suck (and hate) gamepads for competitive gameplay. Why don't you give it a try, really? I'm hoping to see you online for some headshots ;) This could be an easy way to solve this discussion in a manly way... hehe

Now that is funny. How about newest cod? It sold like... 10 times as much on dual analog than on wiimote. Of course you can always use the excuse of game being gimped because the wii versions will never be identical to PS3/360 versions.

By that same logic Wiifit is better than Halo 3.
