"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Are you serious??...All those Wii games are NOT HW MOVERS, MH3,TOG,SD G are definite, everything else i dont think Nintendo will advertise it till an hour b4 release

@Xxain

Japan is more SW oriented than America. If a new game is released HW gets a boost. This happens with all systems. Just read the Japan previews.

Games that will move at least some wii systems this year:

Monster Hunter G - Port, won't move that many units. People who are MH fans already own a PSP or a PS2. The Source said it will open to small numbers (Approx. 50k)
Monster Hunter 3 - Yes
Tact of Magic - No, small niche IP
Tales of Graces - Yes
Kizuna - No, it's a fairly good game, but the audience isnt there yet as there hasnt been a big core game released for the Wii so far.
SD Gundam - Multiplatform with the PSP, so sales will get eaten up and be quite poor. So no.
Arc Rise Fantasia - Same as Kizuna
Spectrobes: Origins - Not even popular in Japan
Samurai Warriors 3 - Yes
Sin and Punishment 2 - No, small niche IP
Endless Ocean 2 - No, barely moved consoles with the first part
Little King's Story - Same as Kizuna
Valhalla Knights - No, same as Kizuna
Silent Hill - Not big in Japan anymore
Muramasa - Same as Kizuna but more niche if Odin Sphere is used as a comparison
Maybe FFCC: TCB - Yes, but if it comes out this year
Resident Evil: DSC - Will move some consoles
Wii Sports Resort and M+ - Yes
PES 09 - No, 8 month late ports dont move consoles
Punch-Out!! - If it does, will move too few
DQX - Yes, but not released this year

Games that will move at least some PS3 systems:

Final Fantasy 13 demo - Yes
Final Fantasy 13 - Yes
Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma - No
Atelior Rerona (sp?) - No
A Gundam Game - Yes
Tales of Vesperia - No
GT5 - Yes, if released this year
GoW3 - Will move some
Tekken 6 - Yes
Summon Night 5 - No, too niche

Katamary Damarcy - No
KOFXII - Will move some
FFvsXIII - Yes, but not released this year
TLR - Could, but it's doubtful if it will be released or not
Dead Rising 2 - No
PES 2010 - Yes
Dinasty Warriors 5 Empires - Yes, some

My take.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

everything seems right except Ronora, I think any JRPG at this time on PS3, will move units

@ trestres

Looks like I forgot some games. Like I said before, "Japan is more SW oriented than America. If a new game is released HW gets a boost. This happens with all systems. Just read the Japan previews."

I know. But I was just giving out my point of view. I may be wrong though. I listed all the potential sellers. Oh forgot about Deca Sports 2, that can move some units, because DS1 is one of the best selling 3rd party games in Japan. Other than that I think I've included everything.
