M$ won't be able to get any where near Uncharted 2, nor God Of war 3 (which is said to be a powerhouse) in terms of looks. But, what are graphics anyway other than eye candy.

I just bookmarked this page as my incoming location every time I go to VGChartz. I will quote this to hell and back if you end up wrong.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Surpasses anything to date on X360.

Oh fuck, they already did it with KZ2 and will do it again with GoW 3, Heavy Rain, MAG and Uncharted 2...

Yeah... KZ2 and anything Sony has already released set the charts on fire.

Also what's this talk about GoW3? Doesn't Microsoft own the right to it like Halo? And even if they didn't Microsoft has the money to keep it exclusive while Sony trying to get more money out of publishers.

GoW is God of War. Since Gears of War is a younger franchise it should be either abbreviated as GeoW or just called Gears to avoid confusion in these discussions. And you have get used to GoW being God of War.

The better franchises get the name so GoW=Gears of War

Oh yeah, I forgot about God of War. I'm sure that game will sell a ton... lulz.

Almost assuredly a solid 2 million copies given it's history.  GoWIII will be a system mover as well.

lol
here it goes again :D

*look and read carefully the title of the forum* yeap it is a microsoft forum..... now let me think about it harder *concentrate realllllllyyyyy reaaaaalllllllyyyyy hard*..... yeap that's what I thought those game can't really be runned on any other OSs than one from microsoft..... but wait I'm not done yet *thinks so hard you can see veins pumping on my temples about to burst* yeap the spec of my XB are about the same as my PC and runs an OS that is made by the same company that has all or most of the games running on them.....

yeah that's what I thought those game are definitely MSFT exclusive I'm in the right forum using the right arguments and people try to deviate the point by trying to point out a difference that doesn't really exist fundamentally....

If you want an example just look at what they did to Apple I mean Jobs was the man and yet Gates made the Windows thing so successful.

Bill Gates sold and continues to sell complete crap. The only reason his crap sells is because a few applications that other non-idiots made run on his crap. And now he has lots of money to waste on selling his crap.

It really is crap-tastic.

mouarf.... people are hilarious... you do reallize he retired first.... so leave the bill on the side for a second.... now true OS X is awesome lol :D

ergonomic maybe.... awesome give me a break.... and the open source world get its quality from the fact it's open source and people work and rework the original code and the good things are kept among the entire pile of crap other do....

and beside there OS tell me what exactly is that great or greater than what MS or a bunch of other has to offer.. iPhone??? iTouch??? iPod??? iTune??? ok i'll give you one iMovie but it still a piece of shit if you want to really do video editing anyway...

I'm not a big fan of microsoft... I just have an XB with the stamp of MS on it.... but i'm certainly not an apple eater either like all those trend victims out there... they have absolutely nothing to offer that justify their pricing and certainly not the quality.... but at the end it doesn't really matter what both of us think and who is right or wrong.... the current situation is a proof in itself... most hardwer out there that need an OS run on MSFT patented software... and most educated professional still have MSFT product as their first choice in most cases... but yeah all IT manager must be retarded morons that don't know shit.... and MS is probably recruiting their devs in dance and painting schools and colleges... that must explain everything lol.... you are a trip man....

what really bother me about MS is how they push software on you when you use their OS that's it... other than that I would run on windows if I could afford a legal license... but why pay when I can get a CD of ubuntu legally for free... and do pretty much everything I need to do

Microsoft has allowed 'tons' of new successful IP to be created this gen as well - Gears, Mass Effect, Viva Pinata, Crackdown, and Alan Wake (since you want to mention MAG - an unknown quantity just the same).

How many  of those can be bought on PC versus Console?  I certainly have enjoyed many of those games since my 360 broke.

Is this just an excuse to flame MS / 360?

Your earlier argument was that Sony has put their name/money to some IP. Furthermore, you said this is why you prefer the PS3 over the 360. Well, Im just pointing out certain IP that MS has put their name/money on which is just as successful and also you cant get on the PS3. And whether you can get it on the PC, I dont see how this is relevant when MS still gave birth to those IP (although duh they are Games for Windows so MS still gets publishing fees).

Not at all.  The reason I really do at the core like Sony as a video game maker has never been sales or anything else.  Just the fact that they always have had wonderful franchises that would just get created out of thin air.    Nintendo not so much.  (Beyond their originals) and Microsoft not so much either.

And no 360 didn't give birth to these games if I can play them elsewhere.  That's the point. Multi-platform games I wouldn't count.  I can play Mass Effect, Gears and Alan Wake on PC.  If Xbox 360 didn't exist,  I could still play those games on PC for certain.   You can't say the same about most of the PS3 exclusives.

That's the whole point.  What IPs has Microsoft come up with for their original Xbox / 360 that actually have been 'new' and not just taken another companies exclusivity from a game?   Halo and ...  ?     I mean hell even Halo I could play on PC.

I disagree. The IPs/games I stated were created with the 360 in mind with a decision to port it to the PC at a later stage. Heck you cant (and wont ever) play Gears 2 on PC. And these IPs are massively more succesful on the 360 than their PC counterpart. I firmly believe that if the 360 didnt exist, none of those games would have - because MS' investment in Rare/Epic/Bungie/BioWare were definitely part of their 360 strategy.

And secondly, I dont really have to argue on the above because consoles dont give birth to IPs, the publishing companies and developers with the ideas do. These 2 elements dictate the hardware/console. And thats why I am talking about MS and Sony rather than the 360 and PS3. So to answer your question on what IPs MS came up with, I would give you the same list as before. What is the difference of Sony paying the wages/bills for Insomniac/Naughty Dog so they have to make it on the PS3?

Dont get me wrong though, Im not trying to flame you or say you cant prefer Sony/PS3. The bottom line of what Im trying to say is - you said you prefer the PS3 because Sony created IP, Im saying MS created IP as well. You made it sound like only Sony did.

Games could be releasing late 2009, and Microsoft is just waiting for the right moment to announce them *cough*E3 2009*cough* I mean E3 is going back to the LA Convention Center and possibly bringing all of it's excitement and thrills back to the show from the old E3's.

PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

MS cant win either way each E3 they talk about games that people already know about because they are actually coming before the next E3 which causes people to complain that there are few surprises.  The only game I can think about that was touted at E3 from MS that hasnt shipped is Alan Wake.  Sony on the other hand announces things years in advance, half of the ones announced at the unveiling of the PS3 still havent shipped, but fanboys eat it up anyway.  I like both consoles but prefer MS's strategy when it comes to announcing games.

Are you sure about that?  Games like Mass Effect/ Alan Wake totally appear like 'PC' born games.   What good IPs has Rare given Microsoft?  Bungie / Epic  (Halo and Gears) and....  Bioware makes PC games and always has.

And secondly, I dont really have to argue on the above because consoles dont give birth to IPs, the publishing companies and developers with the ideas do. The point is,  if I want to get truly original, unique, IPs that differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack.  Sony has always provided that better than Microsoft has.  That continues onward today.  Which is precisely the point.  I have played numerous 360 games on my PC.

Dont get me wrong though, Im not trying to flame you or say you cant prefer Sony/PS3. The bottom line of what Im trying to say is - you said you prefer the PS3 because Sony created IP, Im saying MS created IP as well. You made it sound like only Sony did.

Sony has created so many IPs with more consistency and this has happened since the Playstation brand formed.  Microsoft to date has stamped their name on Ex-PS2 exclusives.  (Which is great for 360 gamers)  but the fact remains that there isn't any creativity in that.   So what?  What 'new' games are you going to offer me?   I don't think the 360 delivers as well in that regard.

What I don't get is the new line is "wait until E3"....do people honestly think a huge game will be announced at E3 for an 09 release? Halo ODST was set to be announced at E3 08 and the game remains many months away. Mass Effect 2 is a 2010 title and it has already been announed, all I know is that people will be weeping this E3 and I will be here for the wonderful meltdowns.

*crosses fingers for MGS5 and Versus to 360, Splinter Cell Conviction and ME2 to PS3*
