Do I misunderstand something or are VGChartz numbers way to low?¿?

the numbers for vgc show just over 3.5 million, why is that too low? the article doesn't say anything about each game selling more than 3 million, it refers to them as a pair. it also seems to correspond with the rankings,... ignoring Wii sports, the next best seller is Wii play at 2.1 million, so diamond must be just over that to take 1st, whilst pearl must have sold the rest to add up to 3.5 million. actually checking America yearly again the numbers don't fit, because if diamond has to sell near 2.2 million, then pearl can't sell more than 1.3 million... which it needs to do to take 3rd over GH2 at 1.5mil could be just that various numbers are off on vgc, or that this article refers to last NPD numbers, so Wii play and GH2 would be a lot lower a month ago, giving pokemon more leeway.

They article clearly states up until July, so take the 4 august numbers:

Pokemon: 3.34M
Wii Play: 1.85M
Guitar Hero 360: 1.08M

Considering Pokemon Diamond/Pearl seem to sell approximately in a 10:7 ratio would put Diamond at 1.96M and Pearl at 1.38M. Seems to fit perfectly into those numbers. Also don't forget that we're talking about US only numbers in the article, so there could be small differences with VGchartz

Sounded to me Diamond and Pearl sold 3 Million each.

Well pokemon seems to be one of the most even sellers across the 3 regions, with each set [r/b/g, g/s etc] selling slightly more in USA than Jp, and slightly less in Eu than Jp. considering it only released here erm, 1 or 2 months ago it should be roughly what American sales show for 1 or 2 months after release. [wish i knew release dates...gonna check] edit, i'd guess about 2 million [conservative estimate], so its sure to be over 11mil WW already. i know you wanted solid numbers but i don't know them... i'm just bored and want to post.
