Tales of Symphonia has some very, very, very vocal supporters, but the average opinion isn't too far removed from mine - fun game, a bit over-long, with a solid battle system and a very, very, very silly cast and plot.
Nah, it's not overrated, by and large.
I def. have to go with Dragon Quest VIII. I couldn't finish the game. It bored me to tears.
Final Fantasy XII I think that should have been the first Final Fantasy that deserved something less than an 8
