My favorite Vampire movie is Roman Polanski's great parody of the genre:

I found it.  I don't think it's a true sequel to Polanski's Fearless Vampire Killers, but it definitely is a sequel in spirit.  It was called The Vampire Happening and was released in 1974 and starred Pia Degermark.

[rant] Twilight is a stupid fanfiction that claims to be a great novel. It was made by an awful woman who thinks she is a great author. Basically it's filled with teen romance between a stupid and shallow teenage girl and some sparklepires. There's shallow Cinderella type dreams of being with those sparklepires and wanting to be one of them just cause they're pretty. Loads of sexual tensions between (not) Bella and Ed(wart) but focuses on abstinence. How the hell did something horrible like this got published? =_= And also, for some reason tweens go crazy over it... BLEH!!!

Toilet (hehe thanks madman), or rather Twilight is an INSULT to REAL vampire books and movies. [/rant]

With that said, I can't say I've seen loads of good vampire movies... Someone would need to point me to some of them... I'd say that Dracula (1931) with Béla Lugosi is great... Not on a scary factor of course but rather as legend. I found it quite amusing and somewhat entertaining.

If you want to see a truely scary movie there is a film called Let's Scare Jessica to Death.  It was made in 1971 and is very unsettling in the way that some of those seventies movies were in that as you watch it you can actually feel an aura of evil creeping over you.

1. Let the Right One In - The movie is a little bit disturbing but the book is ever more so.

2. Near Dark - Pretty cool 80s vampire flick with Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen.

3. The Lost Boys - Another cool 80s flick with some great acting by Kiefer Sutherland and the rest of the cast

4. Lust for a Vampire - Classic Hammer Horror film.  I haven't seen it in about 25 years but I remember it being a good period piece.

I won't bother mentioning anymore since I went to look for more vampire movies to jog my memory and found this great link:

Werner Herzog's remake of Nosferatu.

Great video and great link. The only problem with the link was there weren't any of Rollin's films on there. If the two I mentioned before weren't good enough Lips of Blood should be. And it was one of the few Rollin films that featured both Castell / Tricott twins.

I think that's why I liked it so much. I was so intrigued by the movie I went and bought the book the next day. Roughly 100 pages in and am happy to report that it is indeed even more disturbing than the film :)

Near Dark is a personal favourite too. A remake is in the works and i'm not sure how they can mess it up(always pessimistic about these things!).

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

Film, I don't know, but favorite series is Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.

I'm just in the middle of season 7 at the moment (seen it before, just rewatching the series).

I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  I have Season One DVD set, but I didn't get around to opening it for awhile after I bought it and after I did, open it, much to my dismay, I discovered that my the disc that had the two hour pilot on it was scratched and it was too late to return it.

Man, if you like Season one, you'll love the rest.  Season one is easily the worst season of the seven.  Best is a hard choice between season three (the mayor) or season six (Willow and the trio).

I've seen most of them.  I just never got to see them all in order.  I also never saw the final episode.  Yeah, it's one of my favorite shows of all time.  A couple of years ago, I was hoping they'd make a new series of starring Hayden from Heroes.
